Best place to drink coffee and eat home cooked meals...and desserts! The antique "décor" and the music will bring back old memories and your visit will make you create new ones. You'll be astonished by every detail.
came to Grandmere for a cross country race at the golf club and wanted to eat at a local mom and pop type restaurant and found Le Cafe Bucolique on Tripadviser.
as we drove i mentioned that it seems like we will end up at somebody's home.well we did it's a modified home wihe the whole downstairs redone as a coffee shop deli set in the late 1800's to early 1900's. you must check out the washeroom. food was excellent with different homemade soups and wholesome grilled sandwiches on various types of breads. felt like eating at grannies place.
decor in this cafe is amazing. all kinds of antique items from simple pill bottles to sewing machines to old tools throughout the whole cafe. did i mention the washroom.

Other than giving an headache to the GPS, and a parking situation that had us using the next door hotel to park. We had an excellent evening! This place reminded me of a Pub, loud conversation, laughter, music in the background and Beer! Lots of Beers, their own brand, their own cooking too. Great place to have fun with the gang or just a drink with the buddies. The only real reason I didn't give it a 5 * is because service was slow, a tad to much since we were attending after the Keifer Sutherland & his Band show. But the food was really appetizing and the service very friendly. And since they were more busy than usual, they apologized for the delay. All in all it's a Great Place to push your comfort zone in Bear Tasting and drinking, with a Menu that has all the trimmings of a Pub but with a Twist on flavour!! Go to place for us!!!

We ate at this restaurant for the second time in two years. The food and service are still of the highest quality and the prices are reasonable. Good wine selection and very busy. Reservations on week-ends are highly recommended especially during the high tourism season.

Went there with hubby last Saturday and was not dissapointed at all. Staff was friendly and helpful, the menu can appeal to almost everyone. We had a delicious meal from beginning to end. Price wise it`s really reasonnable for the quality and quantity you are getting. I will go back therre or recommand that restaurant to anyone travelling to Shawinigan. Go you will not regret it.

Went back again, and still loving it. Every single mouthful -- from the appetizer, soup, main course through to dessert (and what desserts!) -- offers an explosion of taste. Everything is home-made with passion and skill. Delectable! There were four in our party, and all agreed: Les Goglus is truly a gastronomic delight. Make Reservations because it's a small space, featuring quaint, eclectic décor.

We stumbled onto this restaurant and had a very enjoyable meal there. The inside Seating was a little noisy for our liking, so we sat outside where it was very nice, watching the people and cars go by. They do not serve wine, but we happened to have a bottle of California Pinot Noir in the car. I seldom order veal, but the cutlets were very good;my husband had grilled salmon which he said was delicious. Prices were very reasonable, and our waiter was glad to practice his English on us!! I highly recommend this restaurant.

While staying in Parc national de la Mauricie in Quebec north of Trois Rivieries we went into have dinner at Bistro Le P'tit Canot. The first evening we sat out on the front porch and enjoyed what I would call French country fare. As the sun set the mosquitoes arrived and decided we would be their dinner. I wished we'd brought some repellent but hadn't expected them as it was August.
On our second visit we chose to sit inside. On both visits our servers was happy to accept our very basic attempts to order in French including being patient with the children. Even though it was busy both nights our food was served within a reasonable time and was fresh and tasty. The desserts were yummy too.

My wife and I sat down. Took a while to be served. Ordered wine for my wife. Waitress said she would be back soon to get my wine order. Several minutes passed, no waitress! After having waited for an inordinate amount of time, we packed up and left...it it took that long to serve us wine, image how long it would have taken for the food to arrive. Don't bother. Go to "Deux Cingles", much better service and atmosphere.

For: - Well located - Good food - Nice place - Bring your own wine/beer - Food not too pricy if service would improve a lot.
Against: - Service is unacceptable for that price, although staff is very friendly and polite - suggested tip 15% includes 15% on taxes - Washroom floor filty
