Very little choice of where to eat in Moulins on a Sunday evening as most restaurants were shut (although this was out of season), but discovered this centrally-located Italian. Had a mushroom risotto (slightly stodgy) and my husband had a pizza. Good service and perfectly competent food, but nothing special.

We had lunch here on Saturday and it was fantastic. They went out of their way to make us comfortable. The amuse-bouche were excellent, first a outstanding salmon tartar and then another with 2 perfectly poached quail’s eggs in a Jerusalem artichoke purée. It was one of the best small plates I’ve ever had, anywhere in the world. Then we had diver scallops, perfectly cooked and unctuous. The entree was a perfectly cooked piece of wild cod, on a purée of potato with lemon butter foam and chive purée. This small, unassuming restaurant is well deserving of it’s Michelin recognition. Many thanks to all the staff, everyone was professional and friendly.

I had dinner here on two occasions : end of July and end of August and was astonished by the excellent quality of the food, the wonderful advice of local wine (not known by many) and by the very gracious and attentive staff.
Ingredients of the meal are also carefully chosen and presentation of the whole meal is altogether wonderful.
I' d recommend this place to any one who's looking for a meal from the "terroir" - meaning that everything is bought from local providers.

The food was excellent, plenty full and well presented. The service was efficient and well orchestrated.
If you want to treat yourself to a fine dining i suggest you try la petite auberge.
they offer a good range of menus prices as well, so if you're on a bugdet, you're sure to find something for you.
The only let down is the radio playing in the background. I believe an ambiant music would be more appropriate to the style of this restaurant.

Not a big choice on the menu, but everything is market fresh and in season. Very friendly service and nice, if small, selection of wines. The wines of the week being particularly good value.

Brasserie restaurant, the setting is beautiful: painted ceiling and mirrors to infinity on the walls. The food is good, fast service. It's a little noisy.Tables are available outside which is very nice in the summer. It gets very busy on a Saturday afternoon at Le Grand Cafe. When there, those in the know stand just in the right spot to get a photo of yourself at just the right place in front of the infinity mirrors.

This restaurant offers traditional gourmet cuisine. French haute cuisine, with the food cooked and presented skillfully and artfully. The proof is in the eating and we were not disappointed. Add to this the efficiency of the waitress service, which operated like a well oiled machine, but attentive when necessary.
The food was delicious.
This restaurant is a part of the Hotel, which is available to the public and proved to be most popular.

This small country restaurant came highly recommended by our gite owner and previous guests and we weren't disappointed. We visited for a set lunch (remarkable value) and an evening meal (superb). The English speaking staff are clever and helpful to describe and explain dishes, particularly the excellent range of local cheeses offered between courses. They were careful to accommodate my dietary needs with lovely alternatives (not omissions!). If you are anywhere near the area this is NOT to be missed!!

My husband, my sister and I went to Le Lagon for dinner and walked away incredibly happy with the entire experience. We do not speak any French; however, the owners were very kind and we figured out that the restaurant did not open until 7PM. We came back at 7 and chose a number of appetizers and a couple of entrees to share. The dim sum was amazing and the the chicken and veal entrees were superb. We may have to go back again before we leave.
