We went for the Sit-on-top Kayak. It was very enjoyable and fun. The instructor, Damian, gave us some very good tips at the beginning so we could enjoy the rapids of the amazing, glass water, Soca river. The environment at X-Point was very easy going and welcoming.

The guide was amazing and clearly had a good understanding of the river, she kept it fun and exciting for us! There was opportunity to do river jumps and they turned the raft into a slide! Would definitely recommend the company if rafting in he Soca Valley

Kobarid Museum displays exhibits on the events that occurred during World War I on the Soška fronta - Isonzo Front. It covers two and a half years of static fighting and portrays in detail the 12th Isonzobattle, also known as the Caporetto breakthrough. The latter is one of the major battles in the history of mankind having taken place in hillyterrain.
This museum is largely dedicated to the First World War and the Battles of Isonzo. The museum is really well put together with an informative film to start the visit (in various languages). The museum is very much about the stories of the soldiers rather than the senior officers and is much more emotive because of that. Displays are good and there are many interesting photographs. The staff were really helpful. Really interesting 2 or 3 hours.

There were 12 Soča battles (the Isonzo fronts) between the Austrians and Italians along the upper part of the Soča river between 1915 and 1917.
For those visiting the Soča Valley have a read of Ernest Hemingway's A Farewell to Arms book which will introduce yourself into that unbelievable and sad time of our valley's history.
Today the Sacrario dei Caduti di Caporetto is a massive WWI memorial overlooking the Soča river just above Kobarid town. When there the peace and silence speaks for itself.

Positive sport is an outdoor sport agency specialized in organizing water sport such as rafting, kayaking, hydrospeed, canyoning... In our bike shop you can find brands such as Trek, Cannondale, Bontrager. You can rent Trek and Cannondale bikes. We offer guided mountain bike tours.
We loved our trip down the soca... Both the rafting and kayaking. Dielen (Sep?) was a great guide and made the trip both entertaining and safe. The rides are pretty short compared to some trips I've taken in other countries but it felt like just the right amount of time to me. The rafting was not very intimidating

The location is amazing: it is surrounded by vertical high cliffs from 3 sides and was easily defendable to the 4th side. You can actually still see the waterproof lining of one water Reservoir, and the outlines of 3 churches and 2 residential buildings dating back to 4th, 5th and 6th century. The written explanations are exceptionally informative, and we learned a lot about live at the borders of Roman Empire here.
Artifacts from late Stone Age all the way to Roman Empire were found at this site, many of them imports from places far away which may industry cate the the place was prosperous and wealthy enough to trade with others.

Very interesting walk which can take several hours if you stop and look at all the hidden treasures. Some World War 1 monuments including the trenches and some very steep steps carved into the hillside. Roman ruins and a couple of stunning viewpoints. Well worth spending an afternoon.
