We had a great day with Nigel, Our family of 6 took the Scottish Highlands tour. We loved every minute of the tour. Nigel was very professional and friendly. We especially liked the falconry show! He returned us to the ship on time!

All of our guides are local men and women who are passionate about Scotland and sharing it with our guests. They have lived and grown up here so they know the nooks and crannies better than anyone. Scotland's hidden gems and breathtaking landscapes await you! We love Scotland and our goal is to help you fall in love with it too.
We booked this as a shore excursion. We started at the Urquhart Castle ruins, which were fine, followed by a cruise on Loch Ness. Very scenic....no Nessie! We had a short stop at Culloden Battlefield then on to Clava Cairns, interesting especially for fans of Outlander, and finally Cawdor Castle. Could have skipped the lunch and had more time there, if I had any complaint.
Gavin was probably the most engaging of all the various tour group Operators we worked with on this cruise. He included pictures of his staff, which was helpful. Tour Guides Michael and Fiona did a great job. All in all I highly recommend Invergorden Tours.

Invergordon is a tiny place. We arrived by cruise ship and the prices our Princess ship were charging were obscene so we did some research before hand and booked the Loch Ness/Beauley/Cawdor Castle/Inverness trip with Invergordon Bus Tours at less than £50 per person. Although you can book the trip at the little portakabin near the dock gates upon arrival we saw many disappointed people turned away as the trip was full so plan ahead if you can. Our driver Kevin was superb. He had a lovely manner and very clear speaking voice for all international passengers to hear. He drove us safely the whole time and gave us lots of information and valuable insights to the history of the local area. A ship's tour would have cost over four times as much and I bet they won't have had a better time than we did with Kevin on our Invergordon Bus Tour. Highly recommended!

This is a small museum, manned by volunteers and reliant on donations, but it gives a fascinating insight into the history of Invergordon and its connection to the British navy. There are different displays showing how the town developed from early times, including the years when there was a large naval presence in the area. There is also a detailed account of the sinking of the Natal in the Cromarty Firth with the sad loss of many of the crew and local people, including children, who were visiting for the Captain's tea party. There's plenty of social history too.

Scotland Taxi Tours offers five popular tours, one to the north of Invergordon which includes Dunrobin Castle and Glenmorangie Distillery , one to the south which includes Loch Ness and Inverness, and one to the east which includes Culloden Battlefield and Cawdor Castle. We also have 2 all day tours covering a vast majority if the Highlands. Alternatively you can customise and tour to suit the places you would like to see with our experienced and fully insured drivers.
Our driver Regan was waiting for us ( two senior couples) when we got off our cruise ship. Wearing a kilt, he made a dashing figure who attracted attention wherever we went. He gave us a very good tour - mostly a scenic ride through the countryside with stops at the Priory in Beauly and at the Urqhart Castle on Loch Ness. Along the way he commented on the things we were seeing. He is very personable and we enjoyed our morning with him.

We conduct open canoe trips down the beautiful Kyle of Sutherland for cruise ships berthing in Invergordon and to other visitors to the area. The length of the trip is designed to fit in with the time the ship is in dock. This is usually a 6 km trip lasting three hours. The trips are suitable for beginners and are a relaxing and easy river journey in an area rich in wildlife, history and scenery. As part of our excursions we also take great pleasure in providing a home made picnic lunch. This comprises home made soup, home baked bread, salad from our garden and meats, fish and cheeses from local producers. We can also provide small group tours looking at historic sites connected to the Highland Clearances and tours looking for Sutherland wildlife. Our wildlife tours will take you to see some of the most iconic Scottish wildlife.
We generally spend a summer holiday in Sutherland each year. I have been doing so from when I was a child, and now with my own children, for over 40 years. You'd think that you'd run out of new things to do after such a...MoreThanks so much for those kind words, Martin. I hope we'll have the pleasure of your families company on our Kyle of Sutherland Canoe trips this year.

Starting from a little shed in the grounds of the croft several years ago and following in the footsteps of Highland crafts men and women before her, Claire Ferguson, founder of Scotsburn Croft began designing and making a range of fashion accessories. Her inspiration came from growing up in the Highlands of Scotland, an area full of beautiful landscapes, real family and community values and people. Today the Scotsburn Croft brand has grown to become the "home of the croft collection" showcasing a range of fashion accessories, ceramics and home furnishings all handmade and incorporating innovative designs with bold and breath-taking colours inspired by the Highland landscape. From Tweed Overnight Bags to Tartan accessories, handmade cushions and bespoke ceramics Scotsburn Croft can truly bring a "little piece of Scotland" to all its customers.
My daughter treated my wife and I to cakes from Scotsburn Crofts developing food outlet today. Well...I have now experienced the BEST carrot cake EVER...no exaggeration!! Going to be difficult to resist frequent visits now! Great to see this business developing and providing QUALITY amongst the awful alternatives in the town. Thanks!

We wanted to play some golf while we were in Scotland and our Princess cruise had a stop in Invergordon. We did not make tee times ahead because the weather was iffy.
We walked up from the cruise ship dock and met a Canadian couple that was also interested in doing a round. There was no one working there at the time we got there but there were some gentleman coming off the 18th and one of them helped us out. He rounded up clubs, tees and balls and a couple of buggies (carts) and told us we could settle up when we finished our round. We had a delightful round of golf. It rain for a short spell but not enough to ruin the round. When we finished we went upstairs to the clubhouse and settled up. It ended up being about $100(US). It was well worth it. They take credit cards. We played in sneakers. The people around the course we so warm and friendly. They even drove us back to the cruise ship after the round at no cost. Highly recommended and well worth it. Check out their web site, they will pick you up at the dock if you make a tee time reservation.

These 2 men have transformed an unused piece of land into a local amenity. There are 3 trails around the woodland - a quarter, half or three quarter mile walk - and each of them has a flat surface that are suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. There is plenty of Seating and picnic tables and viewpoints. At the front of the area is a beautiful garden that you can walk around and admire.

Are you visiting Inverness or Invergordon in the Scottish Highlands? I offer a customised tour for up to four people, going where you want to go, seeing the things you want to see and spending as much time in these places as you want. I am not like the tour buses which shove you on a coach going round at the pace of the slowest person. You control the tour - it's your day after all! If you are arriving at Invergordon on a cruise ship I can meet you outside the port and return you back at the gates or within the town centre for you to explorer the murials. Minimum tour duration is 3 or 4 hours depending where you are going. Why, I hear you ask? The attractions in the Scottish Highlands are quite wide apart and sometimes you may have an hour's drive to get there so please bear that in mind. Tours are charged in 2 categories, 1-4 passengers and 5-8 passengers*. Contact me for prices. I am happy to accept €uro and US$ (based on the Post Office's buy back rate on the day). Some suggested tours..... North=> Dornoch - Dunrobin Castle - Falls of Shin - Millionaire's Viewpoint ~ 4 to 5 hours South=> Cawdor Castle - Culloden Battlefield - Inverness Castle - Urquhart Castle - Loch Ness - Scenic return ~ 5 - 6 hours South=> Inverness Castle - Urquhart Castle - Loch Ness - Glen Affric - Loch Mullardoch Deer Park** - Scenic return ~ 5 - 6 hours NEW: Wet Wet Wet=> Falls of Shin - Rogie Falls - Corrieshallock Gorge - Plodda Falls - Home Falls - Dog Falls ~ 6 - 7 hours On all our tours there is a possibility of seeing widlife** such as dolphins, seals, deer, pine martens, badgers, foxes, buzzards, eagles, falcons, hawks and owls. Contact me to reserve your car. *If you have more than four passengers you can still contact me as I know other drivers with bigger cars. **Nature is a beautiful thing up here and many forms of wildlife can be seen on our tours but because everything is in their natural surroundings we cannot guarantee sightings.
Our annual pilgrimage to the highlands on the cruise ships once again brought us to Invergordon. We've done this many times before so we know the score.... Don't book any boat excursions. Walk past the taxis inside the port gates. Ignore the bus tours outside. Head straight for the independant taxis on the street on the way to the village centre.
This year we found Garry. We went North making the day up as we went along with thoughtful suggestions from Garry along the way. Dunrobin Castle Outstanding as usual but unfortunately no Falconry as the fabulous Andy was not starting until 6/1 this year. Never mind.
Saw salmon leaping at Falls of Shin and the new visitor centre nearly ready for opening.
Garry doesnt bombard you with facts and figures, instead concentrates on a few key facts here and there about what you are passing or about to see. I'm sure we saw a golden eagle too.
Great trip but we are running out of things to see. Will definitely book Garry up in advance for next year and hopefully go somewhere new.
