We were at Coal Miner Cafe for breakfast one morning while visiting the Inverness area. Service was prompt and the food average. My over easy eggs were good. My friend's omelette was very good, she said. The cafe was dark and appeared to need a bit of a sprucing up.

Cabot Links' premier restaurant lives up to its name with some of the most picturesque dining in all of Cape Breton. A culinary destination in itself, our award-winning chefs incorporate local and seasonal ingredients into ever evolving menus.
Panorama overlooks the Links golf course and at sunset, the view is breath-taking. We ate here the first night of our stay at the resort. Service is top-notch and the food was excellent. I don't eat beef often yet decided to have the evening special of tenderloin. Oh my gosh! Every bite was delicious - tender, tasty and done to perfection. According to others eating with me, the halibut was wonderful. The restaurant is not inexpensive so if that's an issue, this is a wonderful special occasion I restaurant.

For four New England guys on a golf Mecca traveling from Inverness (Cabot Links) to Ingonish (Highland links) the Island Sunset appeared as the perfect midday stopover on our travel along the Cabot Trail. Upon arrival we discovered the fresh boiled lobster would take about 40 minutes since the pot was full with prior customer orders. So I ordered the fresh lobster meat with drawn butter. Nothing special there. All claw, knuckle meat and some roe while the melted butter had way too much garlic. The side of Cole slaw had to come from a can. The outdoor picnic tables and view of the bay were great but my advice: Call ahead, order a fresh boiled lobster and hold the garlic.

Nestled between the Lodge and the main street of Inverness, The Cabot Public House is a bustling spot featuring casual pub fare, patio lobster boils and local craft beers. The expansive patio has a beer garden atmosphere featuring live local music and hearty, rustic cuisine served in the warm, sincere hospitality style Cape Breton is known for.
This is a nice alternative for this staying at Cabot golf resort. A nice pub style menu with something for everyone. Friendly staff, good food, and a little pricey.

In the heart of Inverness, the Downstreet is a hub for the community and meets several unique food & beverage niches. Known for the best coffee in Cape Breton, the Downstreet is a café by day and rustic wine bar by night. Featuring skillet breakfasts, fresh, simple lunch offerings and thin crust Neapolitan style pizza, the Downstreet’s focus is fresh and simple with an Italian influence.
We were a very large group that needed to Pizza's to go. We had enjoyed 3 evenings of wonderful food in our Inverness Beach Village cabins! but now our chef (lawyer) needed a rest. Pizza from Downstreet was our plan. They did not disappoint. GF pizza is difficult. I have had very good GF pizza and not so good. However the Vegetarian one at Downstreet is one of the best that I have had anywhere. It was only 1 of the 15 ordered but everything was labeled well, on time and great service. Thank you!

This little beach shack has a very impressive, and diverse menu. Where else Cape Breton can you get a mahi mahi burger, a philly cheese steak, or a lobster Sandwich right at the beach? No need to pack a cooler, Jimmy's on the Beach has all the yummy food you could need!

Whether stopping in for a quick post-round snack or lingering longer, Cabot Bar offers diverse menu offerings, including locally-caught seafood, fresh salads and small plates that can be shared amongst friends on our greenside patio.
Look for "The Cabot Public House" on the ocean side of Hwy 19. Great atmosphere, very comfortable feeling. We ate in the Lounge where I had chowder which this time was thick and creamy. Outdoor Seating avaiiable.Hi chucktodd75, We're delighted you enjoyed the chowder. Thank you for the rating and review. We would love to have you return to us again soon! Thanks kindly, Riley Krieger-Mercer Food & Beverage Manager, Cabot Links
