5 minutes drive from Kavarna, use the gps and set "Kaliakra Cape" any other setting will take you to hotel or restaurant in Varna or Golden Sands. The parking is free but you have to pay 3 euro per person to visit. It is a cliff with some ruins of an old military post but it has great views, interesting history, nice small museum and a beautiful restaurant where you can chill and have a meal, drink or ice cream and have the best sea view. Be aware that the road is a bit bumpy but ok to drive at legal 50km/h speed (don't speed, police is there quite often). Try to visit when when temperature is not high, we went on a hot day (33°Celsius) and got some sun burns ;)) use sun cream. Also, please mind your kids and don't go out of designated area, there are dangerous places and you get hurt easily. You can check the snail farm too if you are into this type of dish. Google the place, some great things happened there ;)

We had a fantastic time at this Water Park - I thought it was good value for money and lots of attractions for kids. There were only a few large rides but they were very good. My problem was with the rude lifeguards we encountered. We took my autistic nephew with us to this water park. He had just been on one of the big slides and wanted to go on it again. When we arrived at the top of the slide, he had a bit of a wobble about it and was debating whether to go back on. Whilst I was talking to him about it, a lifeguard started screaming at my brother-in-law that we needed to go down the slide right now etc etc. I wouldn't mind if there was a massive queue, but there was no-one behind us, and she could clearly see he was anxious. Horribly rude. He did get his confidence back and went down but we decided not to take him back up even though he asked because of this lady's reaction.

We have been meaning to visit here for a while so finally got the chance.
We took a walk around the park and saw nice lakes, well kept Gardens, cycleways, children's play areas, a small fair and sports centre.
The locals seemed to enjoy passing the time of day and I can see why.
In the centre there are still derelict buildings so once these have also been renovated It will improve the park further

We decided to go to Yaylata after a visit to Kaliakra. It's a little difficult to find - first we went to camping "Rusalka" but the guy at the barrier told us how to reach it. You will have to go the village of Kamen Bryag and when you enter it you will see a small blue sign Reading "Yaylata 1.5 km".
The ticket costs 3 leva (1.53 euros) for adults and 1.5 leva (0.77 euros) for kids. If you want a brochure about Yaylata, you will have to pay 1 lev more (it's in Bulgarian only).
There are some information boards here and there in Bulgarian, English and Russian. The reserve is not very well maintained but anyway you can see efforts have been made!
First you will see some ancient rock tombs and graves, dating from the 2nd-5th century AD, then you can enter a cave dwelling. Next comes ruins of a Byzantine fortress of the 6th century AD which have been recently upgraded and safe access to the top of the ruins have been provided.
For the adventurous - just before you reach the fortress wall, on your left, there is a small path in the bushes (which can be very easily missed) which leads down to the sea, a very small rocky beach.
Further more there are other cave dwellings on the cliffs ovelooking the sea, you can see some remains of an ancient winery and a cave church. You just have to follow the well-trodden path and you can't miss anything.
The reserve is also a habitat for rare plants, herbs and birds. If you are not in a hurry, the full round will take about 2 hours of relaxed walking. Enjoy the scenic views of the sea which open at many places.
Definitely you will enjoy your visit to Yaylata. By the way, yayla (in old Turkic) means 'mountain pasture'.

This is a place not to be missed if you're near the village of Tyulenovo. Astonishing view from the cliffs and breathtaking colours! You can enjoy very memorable sunrise and picturesque sunset (though it's on the east coast of Black Sea). Water has formed amazing natural arch and a lot of caves in which in the past there lived some seals. That's actually the village's name, because seal in bulgarian is pronounced "tyulen". Great place for diving, fishing, camping or just enjoying the breeze and the nature around. And if you're lucky enough you can even spot swimming dolphins! This is one of the few places on the bulgarian Black Sea coast that still remains untouched by the civilization. The best place for all of those with adventurous spirit.

The lighthouse is certainly a great sight to see and I love it's faded colours however unfortunately it cannot be entered so you can only view externally. There is a lot of work currently taking place around the lighthouse - excavations and the renovation of a pier, I have high hopes that this is an up and coming destination.

A huge volume of water that so I am told has great wildlife and rare birds however it is extremely difficult to actually get to enjoy the lake because there is no access. You can view from a restaurant/hotel and from The Island archeological site however I was hoping to get close, maybe walk around the lake, do some birdwatching but despite asking 3 people we were told there is no access which is a shame as I am sure this could become a wonderful destination

Queen’s winery house is local producer from Balchik , who offers free tasting of unique wine and spirits. The place includes exhibition hall with collection – oenotheque wines, rakia, brandies and liqueurs, all by Bulgarian winemakers from 1878 to nowadays. Infinite range of tastes, all different and without analogue. A pleace for adventurers you should not miss!
Balchik palace and botanical Gardens is the definite must see in Balchik but don't overlook the Queen's Wine House because this is a serious stop for wine lovers. You are guided in english by an excelllent and knowledgeable representative and there is no hard sell. The point being that they are endeavouring to establish a complete vini culture and winery in the area and the outlet in the Queen's Wine House functions as their show piece of everything they have to offer i.e. from antique bottles of historical value to modern day blends from the wide range of grapes growing in the region. An unusual speciality are the sweet raki (schnaps style), one made from melon and another from the green skins of almonds, both which I strongly recommend the visitor to taste (also free of charge!)
