Shankarpur beach is good place for all Fish-lovers like me. The beach is good. Nicely maintained by Digha Sankarpur Development Authority. By the way more infrastructures are needed. Roads are not well maintained. But the beach is quite good. One problem is there have no any such of good hotels in nearby area. More improvements are really needed for this particular area. Marine Aquarium

Reviewed By sudiptasany2014 - Kolkata (Calcutta), India

A marine aquarium is an aquarium that keeps marine plants and animals in a contained environment.
Marine fishkeeping is different from its Freshwater counterpart because of the fundamental differences in the constitution of saltwater and the resulting differences in the adaptation of its inhabitants.
A stable marine aquarium requires more equipment than Freshwater systems and generally requires more stringent water quality monitoring.

We had visited this small amusement park during our sightseeing in Digha. We were staying in New Digha and this place was located at walkable distance from Cozzet Hotel and near to Amarabati park. Entrance fee was only 5 rupees per person. There is a beautiful flower garden inside the park though a small one. One can take toy train ride around the lake inside the park. We tried paddle boating in the lake and it was fun experience. Try this place only if you have some extra hours in your hand to spend.

Chandaneswar Temple

Reviewed By Kaushik G - Mumbai

We had visited this ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva during our sightseeing in Digha. This temple is located in Orissa at a distance of 5 km from Cozzet Hotel in New Digha where we were staying. The temple complex was crowded with devotees and not clean. One has to remove shoes at the entrance and enter the temple complex in bare feet. Inside the main sanctum of the temple we had to jostle for space to see the lingam which is situated under ground. Many cows were roaming inside the temple complex and smell of cow-dung was strong in the air. Avoid the pandas who would try to extract as much money in the name of the Lord. Also there are many small vendors selling puja items and Lord Shiva idols at the entrance to the temple.

Nehru Market

Reviewed By JAIDEEP_BANERJEE - Singapore, Singapore

Nothing special...like any other market... market for the tourists only and hence a little high priced.. Didnt find much price difference with Kolkata market... However, instead of having food at the restaurant, you may purchase fresh Fish / Prawn/ Crab / Chicken / Mutton of your choice from the market and get it cooked here with Roti..thus, you have control on the quality that way..Other things not worth purchasing from here..
