Natural beauty abounds in the state of Uttaranchal's Lake District. Boaters flock to hill-ringed Naini Lake, which according to mythology is one of the emerald eyes of Shiva's wife. A hike or horseback ride to the top of Naina Peak (aka China Peak), the highest point, provides stunning views of the snow-capped Himalayas. To share a prime vantage point with family members of all ages, take the aerial lift up to Snow View; there's also a small marble temple at the top dedicated to Dev Mundi.

This place is bang on mall road and right across the lake. Probably the best lake view in town. You can sit here for hours and hours without any fuss. Other than that the food is average, and service a bit slow.

Polite staff, good food, value for money.
We tried their North Indian cuisine and it was delicious. The waiter(middle-aged guy) addressed to all our requirements on time. Ambience is reasonably ok. It’s on the mall road. One can have their dinner and go for a nice walk on the mall road next to the lake.
The Gulab Jamun and fruit custard they have in their dessert section is too sweet, order if you have a real sweet tooth.

One of the famous restaurant and best spot for non-veg lovers. The outlet is cozy and comfortable and exactly how you would wish to dine at night. Since I was here on New Year eve, the restaurant was cozy and we have to wait for our turn to get a table.
The staff is good and courteous. We eventually struggled at the payment counter since the their card machine had a problem with No 3. If the PIN has 3 in it then the transaction will not go through. Since I had another couple in the trip so they took the bill on their card.
Situated exactly on the mall road, just behind the famous church and Naini Lake. The view from the window was amazing and I can assure the morning breakfast will be definitely great with such an awesome scenery.
I would recommend this place for non-vegetarians as I could not get a chance to try veg options.

Originally started in 1944 in Nanital, Sakley's the Mountain Cafe is a treat for anyone looking at leaving behind the hustle bustle of city life and immersing themselves in the magic of the hills. The menu at Sakley's comprises of a delectable mix of soups, all day breakfast options, pizzas, pastas, sizzlers, steaks, sandwiches, burgers, hot and cold beverages
sakley's have a branch in Delhi as well, and that gives more feel of a mountain cafe than this one, which is practically on a mountain!! :p
especially when its a chain ur talking about, you come to expect the same quality and standard irrespective of the location.
so when i was in Nainital a couple of days back, i was ideally walking on the mall road, and chanced upon this cafe, so decided to have my dinner there, as its one of my favourite eateries in Delhi.
the decor is good with focus on wooden furnishing, the playlist is great too...the service is decent enough!!
though we ordered just 2 items from the menu, but that was enough to tell me that my expectation of fine quality wont be met here, having said that, given the generic customers and audience of that place, they are decent enough!!
i ordered their Tom Kha soup, which is one of my favourites and i wasnt disappointed, it was rich and a hearty portion was served with oodles of veggies and adequate coconut milk.
next i tried their grilled fish in lemon butter sauce which was completely opposite and a disaster....the fish was certainly not fresh....it wasnt grilled rather was shallow fried, giving it a rubbery skin....the sauce was not and tangy lemon butter one but instead was as thick cream/ white sauce/rue based one...the veggies served alongside were the only saving grace!!
though i didnt have quite a good experience esp. cuz of the fish, still i might visit the place again to try out their pizzas and other offererings.

Udupiwala restaurant is situated just outside the Kathgodam railway station on Nainital road. Parking available just outside the hotel on payment basis. One big hall with minimum interiors. This place offers good food at reasonable prices. Service is quick. Washroom available. This restaurant is kept clean. Restaurant also offers North Indian menu. Good family restaurant.

Sher-e-Punjab is good restaurant in case you like spicy food. Restaurant is located on Mall road just opposite to the Lake. Interiors are good and comfortable Seating. They serve in copper utensils. Service is quick and prices are competitive as compare to other restaurants in this category at Nainital. Food is satisfactory but little spicy and oily. Non veg dishes are prepared well. You have many options to dine at this city so choose as per your preferences.

This hotel is a concept restaurant. Even if you don't eat there it is worth to see the nicely created Chandani Chowk. The out look of restaurant is like Lal Killa and there are four chatwala with robotic movements are kept at the entrance. Good food is an additional advantage. Must visit this Pure Veg. restaurant. We loved this one in our visit to Nainital during June-12.
This place is themed on the famous Chandni Chowk of Delhi, offering food items from there ! The food is just about average, we tried the Chana Bhatura, the Rajma Chawal and the Veg Thali, our of which the Thali was the best ! You need to go to this restaurant for the awesome Jalebis and the hot Badam milk served in Kullads( earthen glasses) ! Must do if you love jalebis !!
