This former British colonial stronghold boasts evidence of over two millennia of habitation, with ornate, architecturally diverse buildings, ranging from crumbing ruins to Victorian treasures. Home to lively festivals and a vibrant artistic community, clamorous markets and packed temples, this city is crowded and polluted, but ultimately invigorating.

It's always a pleasure to eat at Pan Asia restaurant in ITC . One of the best place to eat Chinese as well as Japanese Cuisine. They serve authentic Chinese Food, which is just too good to believe. Single diner menu is very carefully selected to give you a 3 course meal experience.
Ambience is also very nice. Staff is warm and welcoming , they help you to select as per your mood. My Favorite is Wasabi Prawns cooked by Chef Jerry. Special Thanks to Vikramjeet and Akash for taking good care of us everytime we visit the place. I really hope this restaurant remains the best on the list of Chinese and Japanese Places in Kolkatta. Cheers

6 Ballygunge Place is the flagship restaurant of Savourites Hospitality Pvt. Ltd. Till 2003, Kolkata did not have any specialty eatery worth the depth of Bengali cuisine. Savourites came with a unique blockbuster named after the address "6 Ballygunge Place". A specialty eatery serving Bengali cuisine was commissioned after thorough research into cookbooks of the Tagore Era. As they say 'the rest is history'. Today 6 Ballygunge Place is housed in an exclusive Rai Bahadur Bunglow, 100 years old and retained the Old World Charm in architecture and minimalist decor. Visit the place and savor the authentic Bengali Cuisine at its best.
A little worried as my experience of Bengali cuisine has been limited to the Bangladeshi restaurants in UK but the food was brilliant. Huge portions but prices were so reasonable that you can order several dishes for a choice. Service was excellent

Rough-hewn trestle tables. Wooden Stools. Dholpur Stone clad walls. Mandana Stone flooring. Artifacts aplenty. Menu painted on a block of wood. Earthenware crockery. Copper Water Glass. Rumali Roti made out of wheat. Delicacies cooked in Clay Tandoor (Traditional Indian Oven). Luscious Tandoori fare low on oil and superlative in taste. Desserts are light on sugar coating and syrup. Amazing ambience with a rustic charm. Mellifluous Indian Percussion Music that pleases your ears to the hilt. Impeccable, attentive service by the highly motivated staff. Chefs who rustled up masterfully crafted dishes by judging the heat of the tandoor, and gauging the spices and mix marinades flawlessly. The light touch cooking that is unswerving in its excellence...I was so pleased, delighted and inspired by this award winning restaurant. Deep down in my heart, I felt that this eatery with unique, unmatched concepts, promises to be a melting pot of ideation and creativity.
I am thankful to God for this overwhelming experience (28 March 2018). My dinner experience was so blissful and peaceful. I also was glad that the food is distinctively delicious and suffused with spices which make it palatable for the Indian tongue. Absolutely buzzing.
I am grateful to Rishipal Singh, the second in command of this eatery. In the absence of Manager Anurag Agha, Rishipal acted -behaved -conducted like a Manager. With full confidence. He is very articulate and friendly. Thoughtful collaborator too.
Captain Sonu Karmakar served me the Hot Toddy, my favourite drink. Sonu exactly remembers the tastes and preferences of the guests. I am amazed at his memory.
My special appreciation to the culinary artists. Key Craftsman Chef Sheikh Momintulla, Chef Ravi Shankar Mullick and Chef Shakeel Qureshi deserves a round of applause for their spectacular showmanship and contribution.
Binit Das served me impeccably. Very consistent and attentive he was. Prompt as well as proactive. Vikram Bisht and Abhishek Choudhary joined me in discussing on the rustic charm of the eatery. We spoke on the Pots, Urns that are suspended from the ceiling and pillars. The shutterbug in me was so cathected by the picturesque charm of this dining venue. Lakhikanta Khamuri, who belongs to the Service Brigade, is very obedient.
I am happy to note that my dinner experience was memorable. It gratifying that this restaurant is one of the best in Kolkata that offers succulent Kebabs. Captivating culinary voyage it was.

Yet another serendipitous dinner experience. At the iconic award winning restaurant (29 March 2018). I was amazed to observe that Master Chef Zubair Qureshi, Chef Irfan, Chef Sharifudddin and Chef Fahad were recreating the 200 year old culinary legacy from the kitchens of the majestic Awadhi Nawabs. I liked the concept of “Nawab Table”. Please see the picture. It is located just next to the Display Kitchen.
Guest Co-Ordinator Binita Singh served me, flawlessly, attentively. It was my honour that Binita was serving me. She is an outstanding, pedigreed professional. I am pleased to note that she has been the personal butler for many a celebrity lady guests of this hotel. My blessings to her. I am grateful to Master Chef Zubair Qureshi- he explained me patiently on the slow cooking process and ingredients.
The Service Brigade here is very articulate. I saw Himanshu Ranjan, Kunal Mondal and Binita engrossed in guest engagement. It is really high decibel and they do the same passionately. Even the Hostess Priyanka connects with guests effortlessly.
My blessings to the Dum Pukht team. I liked the exquisite decor infused with deep sapphire blues and silver, that reminisces a bygone era and evokes a sense of the old-world charm. Science of accurate flavouring at its best. Flavours were invigoratingly robust yet soft and refined. Richness of textures and flavours delighted the foodie in me. My full marks to Dum Pukht. No wonder it is retaining the no.1 position in trip advisor.

We initially visited the Oasis for an afternoon cold beer and a snack after our time wandering the streets of Kolkata. The beer was super cold and the snacks were exceptional but the service measured high also. During this visit we made a plan to return the next day for our final dinner in India. Again, same wonderful experience. The food very good and service that confirmed that we need a revisit to this magical country.
