For me, the most distinguishing feature of Prince Edward Island National Park has got to be the famous red sandstone cliffs. As you drive along the 40+ kilometer coastal road they are by far the most eye-catching geological feature – the various shades of red in the sedimentary sandstone cliffs is absolutely stunning. Every single rock formation is unique and thus allows for many a great photo (or selfie) opportunity. Besides their physical beauty, these magnificent cliffs also carry with them much cultural history as well: The area served as the backdrop and setting for some of LM Montgomery’s fine tales in the ANNE series and, what’s more, the cliffs further became entrenched in our collective memories after they made appearances in the film adaptations of Montgomery’s work. In this regard, they have become a national treasure.
While all of the cliffs are unique and ever changing due to natural erosion, one area in particular caught my attention. As my partner and I were driving through PEI National Park, I couldn’t help but notice one area of the Cavendish cliffs that looked something like a large archway/cave entrance. It looked like a great photo opportunity, so I had to get closer. Thankfully, the pathway down to the beach wasn’t too arduous and the tide wasn’t quite to the “high” point just yet and so I was able to get down level with the red sandstone structure. Seeing the oxidised iron-rich materials up close was a real treat. You could see the many layers of sediment and how they would (or will) eventually morph and change over time. I know there are countless examples of unique rock formations throughout the park and PEI generally (think Thunder Cove), but the cliffs in the Cavendish area are perhaps the most famous thanks to a Literary giant, and because of their ease of access. One could easily spend hours here relaxing on the beach or taking artsy landscape photos. But, whatever your purpose, seeing these beautiful cliffs up close is an absolute must!

We visited many Beaches in PEI but this one was my favourite. The sand was very nice with no rocks. The water was nice and warm, and there weren't a ton of people there. It was a very clean beach, and we loved the afternoon we spent there while my husband fished. I'd definitely recommend it.

We enjoyed our visit here. Entrance is via donation unless you are going to the butterfly's garden. There are rest rooms as well. They give you a map and you follow a path down to the PEI reserve restaurant. The garden is dedicated to people who have terminal illness and also to senior citizens. As you walk along you see people working on the flowers and plants. It's such a great cause and gives you a wonderful feeling. We walked down magical forest trail with windows and doors. We saw wonderful outlooks to see Hunters river. There were so many different kinds of flowers and even cherry trees. My son loved the hammock and boat. The restaurant at the end is fabulous! This place is a must visit.

On the island for a week, and stopped by here almost every afternoon for a couple of lobsters. They always have cooked, and chilled 1 1/2 - 2 pounders available, and they are always so good. We have found the prices to be reasonable, and the counter service to be pleasant.
Oh, yea - they also have a good selection of fresh seafood available.

Large beach located in the northern part of the island, popular with walkers, sunbathers and swimmers.
Great dunes and beautiful beach for anyone to visit. Over 30 years since the last visit and little has changed on the shore. Good job by the park to keep it this way.

Six nights a week, Stanley Bridge Hall is alive with traditional Prince Edward Island fiddling, song, stories and step dance from some of PEI's most popular musicians. Stanley Bridge Hall has had a long history of being PEI's Ceilidh destination and presenting top quality ceilidh Performances.
Great show on Monday night! These are great muscians who are very accomplished on more than one instrument and more than one style of music. Fiddling, singing, guitars, piano, step dancing all will have you toe tapping and clapping. Keelin's repertoire includes Patsy Cline and Janis Joplin...now that's a wide repertoire! And she is fantastic whether playing the guitar, fiddle or singing! If you are looking for a great way to spend the evening, you won't be disappointed!

We visited this boardwalk at 830pm at night and it was a terrible mess. There were napkins flying around, garbage here and there. The deck and handrails were sticky with ice-cream and the garbages overflowing. We did not enjoy our time here and left promptly after getting an ice-cream.

I had never been fishing before - this was a bucket list item and reviews showed that bobs deep sea fishing was the best - Im bias but they were right! Bob is fun and a true fisherman! We stopped and caught mackerel - I caught 4! It is very easy and not many instructions to follow. The water and coast line are beautiful. Bob provides all the fishing rods and help will take the fish off the rod for you! We went a bit deeper to fish for cod but they werent biting. We did get to see the Mackerel filed and the extra pieces went to the seagulls and another type of bird that dove into the water! It was a lot of fun! I wasn't disappointed at all!

Home made famous in "Anne of Green Gables" which has been restored to match the descriptions in the books.
On a tour around PEI took a diversion to fulfill a wish of my wife.I did this for my wife and although contrived I found the site it's exhibits and the trails interesting and fun.The site is now a national park so is well located and maintained and gives a good history of Lucy mod Montgomery. We got in for free during Canada's 150th.so couldn't beat the value.

DogBoat is an intentionally small and fun boat tour and charter business. We tour the beautiful waters of New London Bay, its connecting rivers, and in perfect weather, into the waters just off the North Shore of Prince Edward Island.
We could not be happier with our experience with Dogboat. We arrived on the island exhausted after a 9 hour drive from Quebec and the moment Dan took us out all of us (4 adults and 3 kids) were immediately refreshed. Dan is an AMAZING tour guide for all ages: friendly, full of interesting information and a lot of fun. He took us to see nature, beautiful vistas, fishing villages and Lighthouses and ended the tour with a beautiful sunset on a beach dune that we had all to ourselves. His prices are absolutely reasonable and he went out of his way to make sure we saw what we wanted to see rather than follow a set route. Dog lovers should be sure to request Dan bring his golden retriever, Gilbert. We forgot to do so and he sounds like a lot of fun. We are SO grateful to Dan for making our first night in PEI absolutely magical.
