Welcome to the original Gahan House, located in the heart of historic Charlottetown. We’ve been brewing craft beer, serving great food, and showcasing the warmth and hospitality PEI is famous for since 2001. When you think about Gahan, you might think Sir John A’s Honey Wheat Ale and Brown Bag Fish & Chips or a great venue for local music and the perfect place to have a meet up with friends. No matter what Gahan means to you, the common thread is it’s always an experience. There are now Gahan locations across the Maritimes and we’re proud to be the ones that started it all. Experience the beer. Experience the food. Experience the culture. Come experience Gahan.
Other than being out of a Rib Eye Steak, I was very happy with our meal. I was able to get the Rib Eye Sandwich. It’s not their fault the steak is so popular. The portions were so big, my GF had to take some home.

Very charming restaurant with outstanding food. The chowder is one the best we ever had. Oyster bar selection is excellent. Our mains were truly outstanding, Surf n Turf ( pork belly and bronzed scallops with veg and mash ) along with Halibut dish...highly recommend both.
The service was great, decor is really nice too. A bit on the expensive side but worth it.
Will return next visit to PEI.

Great steaks, big wine, and PEI hospitality coming together to create the ultimate dining experience.
When visiting Prince Edward Island in June we made Reservations for a Friday night. We happened to be Charlottetown 30 minutes or so before or scheduled reservation time, but decided to see if they could accommodate us a bit earlier........no problem.
We loved the ambience of the restaurant and found the service to be of top notch quality.
My wife started with a summer house salad, while I had both fresh oysters and a bowl of chowder. Both were excellent. The oysters were fresh and sitting on a bed of ice. Perfect.
For the main courses my wife ordered steak(well done), while I order the Atlantic Salmon with the goat cheese crust. Although both meals were very good, the well done steak could have been a bit more "well done." The salmon again was very good, but the goat cheese crust I found was slightly overwhelming getting towards the end.
I had a draft beer, while my wife ordered a mixed drink. Both were very tasty and refreshing.
Although there were just a couple of minor glitches in the meals, it was still worth the visit.
I would recommend dinner and a night out at Sims for sure.

We had possibly the best meal of our Canadian Maritimes tour in this small, modest eatery at the corner of, yes, Water and Prince streets, very near the waterfront. We were lucky to get a reservation since this place was packed, with a number of...MoreThank you!

Have been to Leonhard's several times over the years, but today was the last; place has gone downhill quality-wise, although as busy as ever.
Had the tuna casserole - the daily special today, so should have been really good; it wasn't.
It was dried up, didn't have much taste, lukewarm, and obviously had been reheated a few times, or else was sitting around too long; perhaps both; also, there were a few bones in the tuna.
Lack of attention to detail; food that isn't hot; both unforgiveable.
Service was a little awkward, but otherwise OK.
Still, I'll not be back.

Prince Edward Island's only authentic British Pub, located in Charlottetown. Our Pub features British Style Curries and Traditional British Dishes. Join us for great Beer, Food and Service!
The Churchill Arms is an authentic British Pub in the heart of historic Charlottetown. Its claim to fame are its British-style curries and its deep fried Mars bar, both of which were featured on the Food Network’s “You Gotta Eat Here” a number of years back. When my partner and I arrived for dinner, the place was a proverbial beehive of activity. And noisy. We ended up being seated outside on the upper deck, which was nice since the skies were still clear and it was a warm night. After reviewing the menu, my partner settled on the Fish & Chips (8oz beer-battered haddock) and I had the Bulldog 150 Burger, which was a special done in commemoration of Canada’s 150th birthday. My partner’s fish and chips were nicely done – the batter was light yet crisp; and my burger was nice – I especially liked the mini Yorkshire pudding placed atop the burger adjacent to a British flag. The accompanying steak-cut fries were also nicely done. After we’d finished our meal, we couldn’t help but try the deep fried Mars bar (did you know this dish was featured on “You Gotta Eat Here”? If not, don’t worry, the menu reminds you!). As far as deep fried Mars bars go, I will concede and admit that this one was probably the best I’ve had. Not overly sweet and heavy. In short, the food – everything we tried – was all very good.
Where The Churchill Arms loses significant points with me is in the service. We were seated promptly (great!), but after that it’s almost like we didn’t exist. It took the better part of about 10 minutes for our drink order to be taken, ditto for our food. After everything arrived (just under FIFTY minutes later), the server couldn’t even be bothered to ask us how everything was and, more significantly, never asked us if we wanted beverage refills. My partner eventually flagged our server down and asked for refills . . . which came after another lengthy wait (we’d nearly finished our meals by this point). I’d like to give this place the benefit of the doubt and say “well, it was busy,” but our server seemingly went out of her way to service the table immediately adjacent to us (a group of 6). What that told me was the bigger group is more important because, 1) They’re drinking and ordering more, and, 2) They’re likely to leave a decent sized tip . . . unlike the small table of two. For me, that’s the epitome of poor customer service – treating one group much better than the other.
FOOD: 4/5
SERVICE: 1/5
VALUE: 3/5
RECOMMENDATION: As noted, I have absolutely no complaints about the food – it was all really good. What I do take issue with is the third-class level treatment we received from our server who basically acted like our table didn’t exist or didn’t matter. Servers are ambassadors of the establishment for which they work and, in this case at least, it didn’t reflect well on The Churchill Arms.

Farm-To-Table
A welcoming treat when visiting this beautiful town. It is nice to see a restaurant with such care and passion for what they do. They offer the best of local food and drinks (which isn't always cheap to stock, trust me) and they do it with beautiful creativity. The concept and the execution are both exceptional. Food and service both 5 stars. This is the place to get some real local food made with love and satisfy your inner foodie!

Seasonal Establishment. Open from first of May to End of Oct. See you in 2017 xoxo
Very good lobster roll. The food is served from a small hut and has rustic tables in the open. Nearly everyone has the lobster roll and it is very good. Not as good as they think it is but good nonetheless. The chips were average.
If had to do it again I would chose somewhere else.

PEI lobster rolls, awesome grilled cheese, local craft beer. Eat in, enjoy our sunny deck or take-out.
I don't read Chatelaine, but I really expected something amazing after seeing the Chatelaine magazine quotes this restaurant had up. So after ordering the hot and cold lobster rolls, I can safely say that I still won't read Chatelaine. Expensive, and service was a little slow too because it was one person making the food and one person taking orders.
