Calella and Port Bo are small with soft sand and amenities close by. Showers and WC's are on or near the beach. With the right conditions, the waters are crystal-clear and great for snorkelers.
Similarly, Llafranc has everything but in greater quantities. More restaurants, shops and a wide, safe beach with rocks to attract fish at either end. Sun-loungers and parasols are available there too.

Triton Diving Llafranc

Went on a snorkelling trip with Triton with our two children (11&8) and really enjoyed the afternoon. After collecting flippers, masks and snorkels, it was a short walk down to the harbour. We then took a boat down the coast to some small rocky Islands. The water was very clear and not too cold and we saw lots of different fish and a couple of jellyfish. All had a lovely time. We met at 3pm and got back about 5pm with approx 1 hr snorkelling.

Village Medieval de Pals

Reviewed By gaiteiro - Auckland

The week after a bunch of public holidays in winter is probably a good time to visit somewhere like Pals. The maze of cobbled streets were almost deserted, and everything except the church was closed (and we only just managed to get in there before someone came to lock it). It feels very untouched by the modern world, and we easily spent two hours exploring all the little alleyways and staircases. Living in NZ, historical stuff is what we miss, and Pals gave it to us in spades.

One of the most beautiful Beaches @ the Costa Brava. Little town, beautiful sunset, little shops. Don't go to the restaurants, they look nice but they're expensive and food isn't great. Go early because finding parking is a full time job. Oh, don't forget your camera.

Beautiful Medieval City with amazing architecture. We loved exploring the city and checking out some of the local shops and restaurants. We spent about two hours walking around and taking pictures of doors and arches and gorgeous homes and buildings. Very fascinating place and well worth the drive. Great short trip if your staying in Girona

A vineyard in the heart of the costa brava which offers 4 good wines, though they are pricey. The location is delightful & the shop also sells their own olive oils. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

After some difficulty in finding this winery, as well as forgetting about the traditional Spanish siesta, I finally had an opportunity to visit this 700 year old winery. The winery has been in the same family since the 1300's and offers a variety of grapes to sample. The wines are pure, unaffected by chemical additives and so offer a very different experience. It does take an initial adjustment to your taste buds but I found the reds particularly enjoyable and for 1.5 euro for the whites and 2.2 euro a bottle for the reds are great value. The wines to one side the visit is all about the history of this vineyard. The 3 sisters who help their parents run Mas Molla are lovely hosts and they are proud to give you a tour of their cellar. This is a "must see", full of history, stories and the wine making process itself. Even if you don't drink wine I think you couldn't help but enjoy the experience.

Well maintained Gardens with plants identified for reference. Exceptional views of the sea. Gardens beautifully laid out using the dramatic landscape and castle as a backdrop. Really needs a cafe where visitors could refresh themselves given that the tour of the garden requires a lot of descending and ascending of paths.
