Cheltenham was just your average, sleepy town until the discovery of a spring in 1716, after which it became Britain's most popular spa town. (Like Palm Springs without the casinos.) Local Cheltonians have a reputation for being wealthy and respectable, and a walk along the Promenade will give you a first-class view of their wonderful houses, shops and gardens. After taking in the waters at the Pittville Pump Room (great name for a spa), check out the Art Gallery and Museum to learn about the social history of Cheltenham.

Lumière is intimate fine dining restaurant set in the heart of beautiful, Regency Cheltenham. Run by Chef Jon Howe and his wife Helen. Lumière offers a short inspirational menu and friendly, informative service. Jon excels in being able to put a new and interesting twist on traditional dishes, the menus change frequently allowing Jon to make the most of the fresh produce available to him.
Visited with my wife for a birthday lunch on the recommendation of a friend. Wow, we were not disappointed. My wife has a number of allergies which I phoned about and found they could not have been more helpful. We decided on the Taster Menu Lunch option, 6 courses, we really were delighted not only with the superb food, every course and the extras that arrived along the way were sensational, but the service was attentive and friendly. The whole experience is one we shall be repeating, preferably when I don't have car keys in my pocket and can enjoy the Wine Flight along with the food! If you're in Cheltenham and have the opportunity don't miss it, worth very penny and then some.

Located in the former old mansion house on Montpellier Drive, Spice Lodge- Cheltenham's premier Pan Asian restaurant - provides you with a new and exciting taste of Asia. The restaurant is divided into separate areas and dining rooms, each having its own unique style and atmosphere, giving you and your guests as much privacy as you like. We are also able to provide the following services: conferences, wedding receptions, banquets, private parties.
Pleasant surroundings in a regency building. The service was good but can be improved. Menu ok but needs additional explanation. Starters very good, main courses were ok but lacked quantity. Would I recommend this place? Honestly not sure.

Cotswolds food pub.
Kineton is a small village in the Cotswolds just south of Winchcombe but is worth the trip down narrow country lanes to get to. The Halfway House blends with the houses in the village and is differentiated by the pub signs and by having a small car park to one side.
Inside it is renovated to allow a reasonable space for Seating and dining, with a reasonable sized bar along the back wall. For warmer weather there are also tables in the garden which is to the rear of the pub and alongside the car park. From here the views across the valley are worth seeing and it is nice to see that this part is dog-friendly with several water bowls in discrete locations.
The menu offers a good selection of fairly standard pub food with the majority of the ingredients being sourced as locally as a few doors down! The lunch meals that the two of us had were on the really side of good and the beers were also of note. Due to its location it is not somewhere that I can rush back to but, the next time I am in the area and need a good pub lunch (maybe with a couple of beers - not my turn to drive next) it will certainly be the pub I will aim for.

Enjoy traditional, homemade scones, cakes, soups, quiches and more in this family-run tea room, in one of Cheltenham’s earliest shops. A unique experience taking tea amongst decorative antiques and textiles, a feast for the eyes and appetite. Vegetarian and gluten free options available. We are also able to cater for Private Parties, Hen Parties and Club meetings. Please get in touch with us and we would be happy to help.
Took my Book Club out for afternoon tea and we had a lovely time. Had the top room exclusively to ourselves and had a delicious tea with more sandwiches and cakes than we could eat. We all had a box to take home. Great selections of different teas and interesting surroundings with lots of things to look at and buy. There are two car parks nearby if you know where to look. Fab, friendly staff who even provided us with extra heating to keep the room cosy. Yes, the sandwiches are not delicate and do have crusts on them but the fillings were good and we liked them being hearty in contrast to the more refined cakes. Also...best scones ever. Will definitely be back. Well done, guys.

Critically-acclaimed, small, independent restaurant specialising in sustainable British seafood and local Cotswold produce.
What a treat to eat such delicious food in a low-key, unpretentious restaurant.
The menu looked fairly ordinary but the chef’s interpretation of the dishes was so imaginative that, actually, I would order any of the dishes with absolute confidence!
The staff were discreet and extremely professional. Completely superb evening. Thank you

Brilliant. Visited twice now. The Italian fella on the coffee machine is very friendly and welcoming. I was served by a petite Italian girl who was simply Devine. The food is authentic and different from other Italian eateries. I just love it !
Well done Dolce - I'll be back again and again

The genuine French Restaurant of Cheltenham
We visited this restaurant for the first time and it was great. We eat out very often and it is so easy to see the difference in quality from other restaurants. Every mouthful was full of flavours. Excellent presentation and execution! Service was as great as the food! Thank you so much!

Great Sushi. Good Service. Great location. You can’t really find fault with it really. I’ll pop in here for lunch sometimes with my wife or we’ll go there in the evenings with friends/family. My favourite restaurant in Cheltenham.
