This is definitely one of the best restaurants in region. The food, service, and wine list were all excellent. The waiters are quite knowledgeable and speak English and French in addition to the local languages. The prices are also fair; it's not inexpensive, but not overpriced for the type of food and the quality (we paid 145 Euro for two people with a bottle of wine and three courses per person).
It's pretty small, though, so either make a reservation or show-up early.

This restaurant is near the fishing harbour in Palamos, almost opposite the fishing museum.
We were recommended to go to this restaurant and were not disappointed. We went for lunch on a Saturday at the end of January, which is not a busy time on the Costa Brava. We had a superb meal. We had a selection of tapas and portions for starter, which were very tasty, with muscles, prawns and croquettes. For our main courses the four of us had three different kinds of fish and they were all very good quality and very well cooked. Portions were not large, but adequate as the fish was quite large, with not too much accompaniment but the food was rich. The Deserts were very tasty, including home made ice cream and home made truffles.
We drank local wine with our meal, which was very good and not expensive.
Throughout the meal the service provided by the owner was excellent. Very attentive and very pleasant. Next time ever we are in the area, we will go here again.

We had the recommended six course meal and it was exquisite! Each dish ~ salad, tuna, scallops, paella, and the others were prepared perfectly and the portions were just the right size (there were six of them!!) The dishes were perfectly paired with wine or liqueurs. We had time to thoroughly enjoy each course before the next was presented. The waitress took excellent care of us! The whole experience was wonderful!

Restaurant located in the bay of Palamos-Sant Antoni de Calonge (Costa Brava), where seafood is served tradi tional. It's a family restaurant run today by the sons of the founders. His specialties include seafood pescadors. It has a dining room on two levels and is decorated in a marine style imitating the inside of a ship. From the large Terrace taste our dishes with the sea a few meters. Our signature dish is the "Seabass with fennel" along with other fish dishes, rice, seafood ...
Go there! We had a wonderful meal, the staff are really friendly and helpful. However, the lobsters with our paella were over cooked and therefore dry. A great shame as everything else about the restaurant meets previous reviews. It's what happens in a busy restaurant!

Restaurant of Mediterranean cuisine, its specialties are: the seafood and the grilled fish, the rice dishes to the traditional style casserole and its menus of the Gamba, l'Escamarlà and l'Olla de Peix.
This beachside restaurant has a good number of outdoor tables by the Promenade but my wife and self can't tolerate tobacco smoke whilst eating so we sat inside a nicely decorated large inside room which has a very nice ambience not to mention excellent sea views through massive glass windows. We were served by a very upbeat Simon (presumably the Owner) who speaks English in a confident manner. We started with steamed mussels, They were very fresh, tender and NOT overcooked. We ended with a seafood, meat and rice dish which seemed to be a local spin on paella. A serve for two people cost a mere 15,50 euros so it was great value. Unfortunately most of the "meat" was offal (lungs I think) but it's anybody's guess as to what kind of animal offered them up for our enjoyment. Unfortunately my wife doesn't eat any offal under any circumstance and I'm rather picky about what parts I can handle on any given day. No day whatsoever is assigned for the consumption of lungs so if I am right about the identification I'll need to revamp my culinary calendar. We also had a litre of very forgettable sangria. I do a much better version myself,

Nice small restaurant with open kitchen where we could see the chef making all the dishes from scratch and all homemade. The teenagers choose the veal stake with chips, the rest of us (4) choose the menu with medieval chicken as main course and we really liked it. All in all a super experience.
Remember to book in advance.

What a find! We were in Palamos for one night and stumbled upon this place for dinner. It had a nice looking ambience inside and the menu fit everyone. We had a beautiful meal with starters for approx. €20/person. The quality of the food was great and portions were huge. I can highly recommend the prawn cocktail and grilled tuna as a main. I had the grilled salmon which was very nice but a bit salty. My brother has the tuna grilled in soya sauce - beautiful! Everyone was happy with their meal and the service.
Highly recommended!

Great restaurant. A bit more expensive than the average places in Palamos, but worth every single additional euro! Great seafood, but also meat highly recommended. I had a very good wild turbot, and you just choose how you want it cooked and what you get as side dishes. Nice wines and extremely friendly staff. We did not reserve and the nice tables were taken, but they placed us in the back of the restaurant, started serving us and as soon as a better table came available they moved us. Excellent quality of food, nice winelist and you can pick good wines at very reasonable prices. We had a 2004 Rioja riserva for just over 30 euro's, which is a bargain. Highly recommended place. When we came back a second time, the owner gave us a bottle of wine at our departure. We spoke a bit about wine, and she just wanted us to have a special wine tasted at home. Love it!

We welcome you to the Nautilus Restaurant in Sant Antoni de Calonge (Costa Brava), where you will enjoy excellent food and wonderful views overlooking the sea. For 25 years we have not ceased to renew and improve our dishes in order to offer the best to our customers in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
A very pleasant beach setting with tables both inside and out. We sat midway but seemed to have perched ourselves on the waiters starting line. They hovered like vultures and tried to rush through every course to get you processed as fast as possible!
We would not be deterred having told no less than three of them to buggar off....it worked!
Calamari starters were tasty, grilled but battered. The Shell fish platter was nicely presented, served hot but came without any choice of sauces or even rice. Needless to say it was bland! Wines were well priced at €14 for a good local Sav Blanc.
This one is for the tourists, but English was spoken.

I am gutted...after 30 years of coming to this restaurant, and rating it one of my personal favourite restaurants in the world, I found out last night that owner Jaume has moved on and no longer runs the place.
Whereas by most standards the place should get better scores (it's had a light renovation and a thorough cleaning)...it has lost much of it's authenticity and character. Food is still good, but not the same anymore. Palamos lost a monument.
