/This is one of the most picturesque places we have ever seen. We only had an hour or two to spend here so we'd walked about the narrow cobblestone streets. What an absolutely delightful little town with traditional German timbered houses.

Something great to do with the kids: you bike on a sort of go-cart on rails while you take in the scenery and the sun. For about 45 minutes one way it's slightly uphill, so you need two adults who are more or less in good shape. Then there's a short break to rest, drink or snack while the bikes are being turned, and after a while you cycle back. The return is all the way downhill again, so suitable for kids. While two people bike, the two others can sit back and enjoy. Not expensive at all, but recommended to take a bike by 4 rather than 2 for resting purposes. Probably also more enjoyable in nice weather.

Great accommodation, amazing countryside. Lots of walks and cycle paths. Vogelsang interesting, but the attraction for us is the walking and views of countryside, lakes and rivers.

Beautiful view from the top, I did not expect it, Just 15 minutes drive from Verviers, 45 from Liege. It's very wild and natural. It was very windy and cold on that day with morning freeze on the grass and lazy sun. Certainly excellent in summer. The top of Belgium. Something to see if you stay around. And look at the the Camarine, one the wild and protected plants found there.

This small and pittoresque village is located in the German National Park Eifel, between the Mountains. The long road to Monschau is very old, you can even see the Roman milestones. Although it's pretty touristic, I loved the distinctive atmosphere featuring the mediaval roads and socalled ´Fachbau´ houses, enjoy the variety. I did the long climb to the Monschau Castle, on top it´s worth the effort, what a stunning view on Monschau! Back in the center there´s plenty of choice to have a drink (recommended: German wheat beer on draught), lunch or dinner and to buy souvenirs. It was a long bustrip from The Netherlands but worth the visit, what a wonderful village and perfect location!

Sandskulpturen Monschau

Reviewed By Lehris - Dusseldorf, Germany

I have often seen pictures of sand sculptures next to sandy Beaches but never thought there will be an entire gallery of such sculptures inside a city far away from sea. the place is accessible and right in front of a big parking lot of Burgau. Ticket price is 6 euros for adults and you get to see more than 20 wonderful sculptures some big enough to occupy half-a-room. Best on is sculpture showing landmarks of Europe. There is a small open space for kids also to play in sand. I really liked it as details and art work of the sculptures are really good.
