This was recommended by a friend who lives locally and the recommendation was a good one. It is lovely both inside and out and was very welcoming. The menu is simple and as well as their standard fare there is a specials menu. The food is mainly traditional German, although thankfully there isn't a wurst to be seen anywhere. Having caught sight of someone else's main course we decided to not bother with a starter. I ordered the roasted pork flank (similar to pork knuckle) which was amazing and immense. Everyone else enjoyed their food and the waiting staff were prompt and attentive. I would highly recommend this as an example of German cuisine done really, really well. Just make sure you're very hungry first!

A real change from the regular Greek restaurants "Georgios" is a lot more up-market (Fine Dining) no Gyros...booked a table for 4 and we went through four different starters, main courses and Deserts. Meat dishes all-round, pork medallions, mixed grill, chicken filet...for desert I highly recommend the Ouzo infused raspberries on vanilla ice cream which are set on fire and served hot, and which is prepared at the table.
A wonderful family night out, and the bill wasn't as bad as I thought it would be...happy days!

We visited La Grappa while staying in the hotel above, run by the family. A wide ranging italian menu, delicious dishes and excellent wine - primitivo recommended. Attentive service - will hope to visit on another occasion.

We went for a hike, and had a lovely lunch in this cosy place. Very friendly people served fresh food: delicious homemade soup and salad. After our hike we went back for the best piece of pie ever! We are definitly coming back

We stopped here for apple strudel after having dinner at another restaurant. There was only one other table of guests and just one waitress, a young brunette girl. Although it was obvious that we don't speak her language, we could say "one" and "apple strudel" in horrible German, so she understood. The apple strudel was beautifully served and tasted quite good. Large enough for two, it was exactly what we wanted our first night in Germany. We enjoyed it so much, we wanted to return for dinner the next night to try their dinner selections.
When the young lady brought the check, we tried to pay the 5.50 Euro amount with a credit card. She shook her head and seemed to say that they don't take credit cards, so we gave her a 20 Euro note. When she made our change, she laid the coins on the table with their values face-down and quickly walked away. After we turned them all over and counted them, we realized that she had shorted us 1 Euro, and tips are already included in the costs of food in restaurants in Germany. She was either too stupid to count change from 5.50 to 20, or she deliberately short-changed us. While her placing the coins with their values face-down seemed to indicate dishonesty, we prefer to think she is honest but simply too stupid to make change for a 20 Euro note.
Regardless, if you do not speak the language or especially if you are unfamiliar with the Euro coins and their different values, be careful anywhere you travel.

Six of us on a sightseeing trip in Germany were getting extremely hungry after a morning of climbing hills and visiting outdoor attractions. We stumbled upon this place, not realizing at first that it was no longer a German restaurant, but a Spanish one. A wonderful find! Service took a bit longer because everything was made fresh, from the tomato bisque to the salads, fish and schnitzels. Although it started out as lunch, the food was so plentiful that it served as our only meal for the remainder of the day. Staff was friendly, the restaurant was clean and tastefully decorated. Definitely one of the best restaurants we found in this part of Germany. The bill for 6 of us, including beer and coffee, was $83 Euros--an incredible bargain!
