a must visit if possible, temple was good. The temple lies at an altitude of 3000ft and can be reached by driving through three wild life sanctuaries. There is a tiger crossing point while going through this route. Mr.Rakesh tried to match the time, though we were not lucky enough to see the Big cat.

I have been to Banasura Sagar Dam more than 10 times. it is a perfect spot for a one day trip from Kozhikode, Kannur, Malappuram districts.
In the dam's Reservoir there is a set of Islands that were formed when the Reservoir submerged the surrounding areas. The Islands with the Banasura hills in the background provide a spectacular view. It is the largest earth dam in India and the second largest of its kind in Asia. The dam is made up of massive stacks of stones and boulders.
We can do boating at Reservoir. If you choose speed boat it will be a thrilling experience.
There is a beautiful garden where you can have nice pictures. there are many swings where i have seen even aged people swing and recall their childhood days.
There is a waterfall nearby the Dam. You can have a bath there.
There are lot of hotels which provide tasty of Wayanad.

Nice visitation to Edakkal Caves. Amaze absolutely amazing. With my parents who are around 60 years old, we completed in less than 2 hours. However it does get tiresome so go ay your own pace. But it is a must visit! To wall into a cleft where our ancestors wrote on rocks and to fully comprehend the significance of it is a very grounding feeling and an all-encompassing one. Enjoyed good time.,

I liked this lake better than pookode lake which every body visits. There are cottages facing the lake which offers good view. The place is really serene. It offers rope line activity. Seperate toilets are there. Unlike other destinations, the place is kept neat and clean. This is less explored destination in Wayanad.

If you're up for some trekking after a spine-jolting SUV ride to the entrance, then Chembra peak is a must-visit in Waynad. The tea-estate roads leading to the peak entrance are in horrendous condition, and risking the underside of your private vehicle is completely unrecommended. But you have help in the form of old Mahindra SUVs that would take you to and from the entrance at a slightly hefty fee (I'd recommend hiring the SUV only to drop you to the entrance; you could always walk back after the trek ;-).
The trek and peak are beautiful, mostly because the area is (almost) plastic-free and the entrance fee is quite high (Rs. 750 for a maximum group size of 10, with a daily limit of 200 visitors; start early in peak tourist season). The forest officials and VSS (Vana Samrakshana Samithi; forest protection group) members ensure your climb is risk-free and educating. The views during the climb are great and the heart-shaped lake up top is a thing to behold and cherish. Kudos to the watchers for keeping this place awesome!

The museum is quite close to Edakkal Caves. The museum is well maintained , clean and has a fairly good collection of things.... All of them are well documented written in English and easily understandable.
However this museum has limited artefacts on display. It should try to house much much more so that kids can get a feeling of them and probably connect to ancient history which they study……..
Seeing the museum will take a time of 30 to 45 minutes.. The staff is very cooperative…..

I had been to this place with my college friends. You have to nearly walk down for more than 1km to reach the falls. While going near the falls you have to be careful because the rocks are very slippery and you keep falling. Terry to avoid senior citizens and young children to this place because you have to walk a lot. Other than that the overall experience was really good and this is a must visiting place when you go to Waynad.

Lakkidi view point gives the birds eye view of the hairpin curves. You can capture the mountain ranges in the valley however its not worth driving till there. Moreover there are no parking space you just have to stop your vehicle on the sideways to enjoy the scenery.
