Very big and interesting restaurant. Quite noisy. Food was good - the impala steak especially so. The service was friendly and tried to be helpful but had no knowledge of the food or wines. We wanted something white, dry and sparkling and ended up with a very fruity and sweet red fizzy wine! Interesting! We chose better with the red wine that we knew was going to be red!

Great food and great ambiance. Close to OR Tambo International airport
We went in a group to this restaurant and the starters were mediocre but some of the mains were unedible. Three of us ordered the sole which was slimy and smelt fishy. They replaced two of the mains with prawns which some were undercooked and some of the prawns mushy. My “fillet”steak was was not a fillet at all but a very tough fatty piece of over cooked meat. Manager had a bad attitude. Would not go back.

Ocean Baskets in South Africa are consistently good with a varied and tasty menu. Our food was excellently prepared (salmon can be tricky) and came quickly. Staff were super friendly despite the restaurant being in a busy airport. Ambience not the best (again, it's an airport) but there's always people watching while you enjoy your meal.

I think I expected much better from the restaurant, as Portuguese food is normally month watering, but wasn't blown away here and therefore won't be my first pick again unfortunately. The chicken was dry and expected this to be juicy and finger licking, potatoes/ were...MoreGood day and thank you for your review we will improve thank you for your criticism

Spoil your family & eat out at Soaring Eagle Spur. We are the best steakhouse & burger restaurant in Kempton Park. Bring along your kids for some great tasting food & dessert from our famous Spur menu.
Visited the Spur with my wife on my return to South Africa.
Quite shocked at the increase in prices at restaurants after 15 months away.
We shared two starters with crumbed mushrooms, crumbed Jalapenos stuffed with cheese, calamari rings and Buffalo wings.
The Jalapenos were excellent, as were the mushrooms and calamari. The wings were far too dry, which was disappointing. The one dip, rather sour, was not pleasant. The others were very good. With a beer and an Appeltiser the meal exceeded R200.00. Where are the days that you could have a steak meal for that??
I will still support Spur. Their prices are still market related and their service is good.

This is the first place I go to when I'm in South Africa. They have great service (you can have up to three waiters attending to your table), they're polite, fast and very helpful. The menu options are many and there's just something for everyone. I certainly recommend the seafood platters but I advise you have a lighter drink because it's very filling. Generally, the restaurant has a nice atmosphere and it's good for families, friends or even business (depending on hours of the day).

The food as always excellent, served by friendly and well trained staff. However it is to dark, one cannot read the menue. There should be soothing background music to help conversation between customers. The loud pop is OK for evenings and weekends!
It was realy annoying. The request to reduce the noise was ignored.

We joined friends for a show at the theater, followed by a delicious meal. We sat “outside” and loved a whole fresh bread served warm. We ordered a meze platter to start with and then various hot dishes. I enjoyed a rice pudding - which was delicious. The service was prompt and professional. The portions were ample and all the dishes were tasty.
Ideal for a celebratory event.

This is without doubts the best place to eat at OR Tambo (Johannesburg) airport. You are greeted with big lovely smiles before you even reach them. Very quickly shown to your tables and menus handed over. The food is quick and consistent with all M&B restaurants. Hearty generous sized meals. Good flavours as always. If you have space have a milkshake too.
Sadly, from the time your food arrives the waiters tend to forget about you and if you need anything extra or the bill, you need to go hunting for the person that served you as they don’t really come back.
Warning!!! If you pay in USD/GBP or other currencies, your change will be in local currency (Rands) so be ready with small notes or be willing to receive the currency.

The food and the ambiance at Quills is nice and a good relaxing place to wait for your plane. Service is slow and everything seems to be slow in coming out, even drinks but it is still the best place near the hotel. Decent wine...MoreDear TWilliams, Thank you for your review on Quills restaurant. Your valuable feedback has been given to our team. We always strive to improve on our service to deliver the best for our valued guests. Regards, Triveni
