A rare year-round resort on the Island of Winds, Alghero makes an atmospheric destination. Occupying armies have all left their marks on the old, walled city; Italian kingdoms, Carthaginians, Phoenicians, Byzantines, Arabs and Catalans have all come and gone. Offering an irresistible combination of history, architecture, culture, stylish shopping, fine food and wine, and water sports, Alghero's cobblestone streets can be explored on foot or by bus. Don't miss spectacular sea cave, Neptune's Grotto.

Benevennios.
We are Rita and Mario, and together with our daughter Maria Grazia and our sons Michele and Giuseppe we run our farm stay "Sa Mandra". Twenty years ago we left Fonni, our birthtown and we moved to this region, Nurra, near Alghero, taking the affection from our native place and the love for our origins with us. Our lives have been made even happier with the birth of our kids first, and the birth of our nephew Fabrizio more recently. We both belong to families from agro-pastoral communities that moved to the same area in the northern Sardinia. We took our culture from Barbagia with us, and we use it as distinctive mark to run our business: the farm stay "Sa Mandra"( mandra stands for a circular paddock that shepherds used to build in order to confine sheep for milking).
We started up this activity in 1993, in a plot of one hundred hectares close to Alghero and to the "Riviera del Corallo" (the coral coast), in the Nurra region, a flat land with few plateaus, rich in naturalistic and historical sites, monuments, with areas for growing medicinal herbs, other with olive groves, and lands left for grazing.Over the last 20 years we have asserted ourselves in this field, improving and increasing the range of services we are able to offer, thanks to our qualified staff (of 10-20 people depending the season), trained in our farm within the project Programma Operativo Regionale 2000/2006.We currently offer
Nice evening fixed menu dinner, nice vino is found here. Reservation should be done, take care that you ask to sit outside. Its beautiful inside this farm, a lot of old tools are exposed. The dinner is served as a 40 EUR menu per person,...MoreVery kind, we are very happy that you chose to dine at Sa Mandra, but above all we are glad that he was happy. In the hope of seeing you soon I renew your most beloved greetings.

Ate here on Wednesday 13th September. Nice outside Terrace on the roof. Pleasant ambiance, staff friendly, did not feel rushed. Pizza was good but we couldn't even manage a half metre one between us. They will combine Pizza's though so if you fancy a bit of your other half's then opportunity knocks. They will also put what you can't eat in a box to take away. Good value too so recommended.

the owner was very nice and informative . he speaks English.
room was very simple without AC but it was not so hot.
we wanted to watch world cup final for women's succor and we asked him bout TV and he actually brought TV for us to our room. it didn't work but the effort was very nice.
he showed us around the farm with bigs, wild boar, horse, and some grape trees etc and it was very nice.
if you are staying around Alghero it is very nice place to stay.
about 20 mins drive to city of Alghero and about 20 mins from AHO airport.

Cucina tradizionale sarda. Very good place. Not expensive. The best
This place is a real gem! We called on a Wednesday afternoon and were able to book a table for 8pm. They offer two set meals €35 for the big and €25 for the smaller. We went for the €35 which was an absolute feast! The setting is stunning - we arrived at sunset and the view through the trees was a sight to behold. The restaurant is in a renovated traditional farmhouse. The antipasti was was very diverse with veg and non veg options (around 7/8 varieties) this was followed by two pasta dishes - the ragu was delicious. We then had the Carne - where there was beef and the Porceddu. Dessert was the homemade nougat - this is an absolute treat, and then finished off with Limoncello and an Espresso. All this with your choice of Red or White wine served in a terracotta jug!
We also needed a taxi back to our hotel and they were very kind to organise this for us too.
Overall a great experience and a must visit if you are in the area.

Ate with my husband on four occasions on our weeks break in glorious Alghero in this quaint understated establishment. The food was delicious and the staff were cheerful and efficient, nothing was too much. I would highly advise a visit ,the cost is not expensive and you even get a free aperitif at the end of your meal!

The Kings restaurant is located in the enchanting atmosphere of the old town. We give you the possibility to eat in a beautiful Terrace overlooking the sea, along the ramparts Marco Polo Alghero. This is our kitchen, mix of typical Alghero cuisine and traditional Mediterranean food, attention to the quality of the raw materials and only sardinian product.
This place does not deserve its high ranking. The location is superb, which is why we chose it, especially if you are there at sunset. The food though is very expensive for what it is & you don't get much of it. If you are going to splash out on 3 courses you will be ok, but if you just have a main like we did then you will pay over €100 and go home hungry.

We had a great evening in OK Pizza! The pizza was perfect itself, the service was just amazing. Waitress described everything and explained what was fresh and which products were from the freezer. We were given sth sweet with the digestivo at the end. It really felt like in a proper restaurant. When ur in Alghero you should really eat in OK Pizza.

Visited this establishment after seeing other reviews. We were welcomed most warmly and it was explained to us how to order. Rather than collecting our order when ready, it was brought to our table, which is not how they normally operate, and this happened again when we returned the following day. We recommended this place to others as we were so impressed by the food and friendly reception from the staff.

From TA reviews we had great expectations. Tapas ok, wine ok, service ok. The theme of seats being crates with sack seats not so good. Unlikely to return during our stay in Alghero
