Visit the Zlín ZOO and you won't be sorry! It is opened 365 days per year and it belongs among the most popular zoological Gardens in the country. Featuring extensive natural exhibition with flowing creeks and Waterfalls, a new Yucatan tropical hall, walk through exhibit and aviary, Chateau Lešna and beautiful park and animals offer an unforgettable experience and day-long fun and games for the whole family.
One of the most beautiful Zoos I have seen. It is devides into areas characteristic of each continent. Several restaurants, icecream places, places to sit and let the kids play on a Playgrounds. There is a possibility to pet a sting ray so don´t miss that one or walking through kangaroos where you can see a cute albino one. Charming!

Visited the town on the way back home. We planned to visit the Archbishop´s chateau only but were offered the tour containing also the view from the chateau tower / 206 steps up and 206 steps down/ and visit of the Flower garden. The interiors of the chateau are well mantained and there is lots to see.

This is a botanical gem that has preserved the aspects of the original design of Versailles which by now have disappeared due to many updates and redesigns. It is a UNESCO site where you can enjoy a Baroque Rotunda with Foucalts's pendulum and many grotti and frescos, a 80 yard viewing platform to appreciate the French arabesque garden, with Greek mythological figures in the archade below. There are meadows, labyrinth, orangery, trout ponds with water lilies, educational and herb garden. Do not miss the opposite in garden design and visit the English park bellow the summer palace of the Olomouc Archibishop. It is five minutes from the railroad that will bring you in 35 minutes to the official residence of the Archbishop in Olomouc with more to see.

Free day? Nice weather? Ready for a walk? Go for it! There are two ways how to get to the "truba" from the main square - facing it, go left for a quick stair walk or go right, and I recommend it, and stroll in the stone paved streets and admire the local houses. Right under the tower, you can find a pub where they serve tasty sausages ;) Once you feel strong again, climb the hundred something stairs and enjoy the awesome view! As you get down to the square again, buy the famous local "stramberske usi" as a praize for your performance :D

Building 21 was one of the tallest buildings in Europe when built, well worth a visit for the views of the city, a break at the coffee shop on top, checking out the continuous elevator (not sure of the official name), and the first floor museum that includes the famous office in an elevator.

While walking along the small river "Luhacovicky Potok" you can admire unique architecture mostly designed by Czech architect Jurkovic. The town is extremely picturesque and very cosy. I loved the "Spolecensky dum" the most! Unfortunately, there were not many people and the place seemed to be kind of empty (but it was super cold in February, so Luhacovice is probably much more vibrant during warmer days).

A show not only for the ladies is provided by this specialised museum, which you will find in the centre of the Czech shoemaking capital. More than a thousand exhibits will take you through the legendary production of the Baťa company (1884–1945) and also the history of a trade that has protected and beautified people’s feet since time immemorial. The oldest originals date back to the 16th century, Czech examples being supplemented with a unique collection of foreign shoes. Among the exhibits from around the world, you will see sandals made from emu feathers and human hair, which were used for ritual ceremonies in central Australia.
This Museum is well worth a visit, not only to learn about the history of shoe making but to learn about the Bata family. True visionaries who created a global empire of shoe making (and other business interests)
The story boards about the long business road trips by Tatra V8 car to Africa, South America and Asia are amazing. Difficult enough to do it today, let alone 60+ years ago.
The Museum isn't that easy to locate (its in Building 14 on Vavreckova) ) and parking on the street is a bit limited if you have a car. Use the car park area in Dvacata, about 150 metres away and around the corner.
