The lush parks and golden beaches of Tauranga make it a popular destination for outdoorsy folks and watersports lovers. Here on New Zealand’s North Island, you’ll find a variety of opportunities for surfing, white water rafting, kiteboarding, hiking and golfing. Take a refreshing dip in the swimming holes by Kaiate Falls, which cascade beautifully over the bluffs. Families might like to visit one of Tauranga’s amusement park, take a guided nature tour or swim with dolphins in the Bay of Plenty.

It is not "what was wrong" but more "What was missing"
The meals (three courses nearly all round) were enjoyable without being especially memorable so no significant grumbles from our party of 5 for lunch. But nor were the meals anything special and the creativiity has fallen from previous visits and so too has the service. The service was adequate and to the expected formula without being especially friendly as in previous visits and certainly seemed a tad reluctant to address issues.
One of our number who had not been before summarised it as having a "conference catering feeel to it" rather than being an " art-deco style restaurant for dining in an ambiance which compliments fine wine and cuisine... with latest culinary innovations" So a satisfactory but not especially memorable visit

Talk of India's new seasonal menu has taken our favourite restaurant to a new level, the spicy bullets with dipping sauce were delicious, followed by the Eggplant dish and prawns with pineapple salsa accompanied by their garlic naan was ample for the two of us.We will be visiting again to sample other dishes on their exciting new menu

The best fish and chips in the Bay of Plenty!
I visited here for lunch recently and had the fish (bluenose), chips and a drink for $8. The portion sizes were very good especially the chips and they had a variety of options on the menu. The service was excellent, quick and friendly despite being rammed full of customers. The food was delicious and well battered. I am used to excellent F+C in England and I have not found the options in NZ to be nearly as good but this was fantastic. Being able to eat inside under cover or outside in the beautiful sun with excellent views was nice as well. I will definitely visit again.

Warm, inviting atmosphere, great tasting food, Awesome hospitality, great value for your money on a tight budget....
We called in to Turkish Delight on an impulse as we felt like eating something 'non-bready' and fresh. We both ordered the Lamb Salad and two glasses of wine. Service was great... very friendly staff, smiling and helpful. The portions when they arrived were very generous and the salads were fresh and crunchy. The lamb was very tender and tasty - not overcooked as it sometimes can be with kebab-type meals.

The mango margarita is amazing. This was my first visit. The service was quick and cheerful and great when you are heading off to the movie's. My meal was ok but not great.

Best Coffee in Tauranga. Fantastic breakfast and lunch 7 days from 7am
We stayed in the Devonport Hotel and my husband fetched breakfast from The Med. Great options and freshly made. We thoroughly enjoyed our choices. Good coffee. Staff friendly.

Always a great place to visit if you don’t want to be disappointed. The baguettes are always fresh and you can have them toasted if you want. The coffee is always great and the slices are a perfect way to end a fabulous lunch!

Well let me tell you, there is good service here, and the young lady who usually works Fridays would give Ivanka Trump a run for her money..if you get my drift. Wowee, you could trip up on entering the premises, it's that impressive. Aside from all that the coffee's not as good as Tahlula's :)

Delissi is a contemporary small plates restaurant that aims to provide a unique and exciting dining experience. We provide entree sized dishes, two of our entree dishes are equivalent to a main elsewhere - the same amount of food, same sort of price but you get to try two dishes. We aim to have fresh, seasonal and locally sourced products.
Warm welcome on a wet blustery evening. Amuse Bouche perfect way to start our evening. We were there to celebrate our daughters move to this area and a fine food celebration it was. We chose 4 entrees between us and a side order. I particularly enjoyed the flavour of the confit duck, the beef cheek was tender and tasty and we all enjoyed the presentation and flavours of aranchini and the chicken parmigiana.
Desserts did not fail to impress both visually and for taste
Hard surfaces make conversations a little difficult but we were very happy to share food and eat.
A lovely experience all round. We will be back soon

This restaurant won an award in 2016 for being the best budget restaurant in the area. It still deserves the award at the end of 2017.
My burger with portobello mushrooms, blue cheese and trimmings was absolutely delicious. My wife had mussels and found 2 dozen were too much for her.
