Yarm is a small town in North Yorkshire, England. The town is on the south bank of the River Tees and is historically part of the North Riding of Yorkshire. The bridge at Yarm marked the furthest reach of tidal flow up the River Tees until the opening, in 1995, of the Tees Barrage, which now regulates river flow above Stockton. As the last bridge on the river before the sea, it was superseded by a new toll bridge opened in Stockton in 1771. The oldest part of the town, around the High Street, is situated in a loop of the river, and the newer parts of the town extend to the point where the River Leven meets the River Tees.

1 Room, 1 Hour, 1 Mission... unlock the puzzles, crack the codes, solve the clues, and get out! When the door closes, the clock starts ticking... do you have what it takes to hold your nerve and escape before the timer hits zero?
Very well organised and thought out escape room. First one I have been to but exceeded all expectations, and took us almost the full time. Plenty to do to keep 6 adults entertained for a good hour and felt like a proper achievement when completed. Wonderful customer service as well. We went for my birthday and it was a great all round experience.

The museum entry is cheap and excellent value. The museum is very interesting. The staff are friendly and helpful. The park is lovely. Unfortunately the aviary is empty and has litter inside. It looks as though the butterfly world isn’t open currently ?
Would recommend.

My little boy is nearly 2 and loves these soft play places. This place is great, with loads of activities and play areas for different age groups etc. However, I'd go there more often if the staff weren't so miserable looking. At the front desk I said morning and my little boy said hello and nothing, was told the price and told to sign in, no please/thank you! Then when queuing for a drink, my boy wanted an apple juice and when she brought it over he shouted apple juice and I said say thank you, which he did and again, nothing back!! If your going to work around children, at least make an effort to speak to them and be happy/pleasant, put your phones down and speak to the customers, just a hello would be a start. Three times I've been here and it has been same thing everytime.

This place is excellent for couples and families......and it's free, when we go it's always a good time, take a ball, take a frisbee and a few sarnies and a bottle of Lowcocks Lemonade and the memories will come rolling back, the wildlife and scenery is second to none, if only the spud heads would take their litter home it would be something really special, still love it, cafe is good, museum is good but loads of things to do free.

Situated between Stockton, Longnewton and Eaglescliffe, this wild area has been extensively planted with trees interspersed with grasslands, ponds and footpaths - it's a haven for nature enthusiasts and dog walkers alike.
There are a number of access points and a smallish free carpark near Urlay Nook south of Longnewton.
It's a great place for seeing butterflies including the scarce White-letter Hairstreak, and one of the best places in the county for seeing Broad-bodied and Four-spotted Chasers (dragonflies) in the county. Occasional Barn Owls can be seen hunting and the locality one played host to a rare avian visitor, a Great Grey Shrike.
A great civic resource and even better when it's so good for wildlife and free parking and access too.

Excellent selection of restaurants and shops. Just one negative comment - the traffic is horrendous, Car drivers stopping on the road and waiting for cars to come out of parking spaces, taking ages to manouvre. This causes big tailbacks

Great show of lights for small children, fun fair rides and food kiosks. We had a wonderful time although, can be a little expensive when you add up the cost of tickets, rides and food. There's only so much you can do in the park apart from walk around looking at lights, there's not much else but to pay for the fun fair rides. It's worth a visit once per year.

RiverBus cruise and Rowing boat hire. OPEN WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS. £10/half hour per boat or £15 for full hour. RiverBus 40 min trip between Yarm and Preston ParkL £3/5 one way and £5/8 return. Family tickets available. Dogs v welcome. Party bookings taken.
My sister in law had been speaking highly of these boats so I took my two sons (4 and 7) down on 29th august. Weather was beautiful however when waiting to get into the boat a male staff member (brown hair and stubble, short build) who was standing up in a boat was f-ing and blinding towards another staff member. I am sure this was just lads messing around but found this very unprofessional and rude especially in a child friendly environment. Had i heard this while enquiring about the boats I would not have got on. Aside from this other staff were pleasant and helpful. We had a lovely time on the river and my boys thoroughly enjoyed the trip

The Tees Transporter Bridge has played an important role in the area's history for over a century and continues to Provide an important and unique crossing over the River Tees. In recent years the Transporter has emerged as a leading historic visitor attraction and is one of the UK's major sites for extreme sports including abseils, bungee jumps and zipslides. In 2011 to mark the Bridge's centenary the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) confirmed a £2.6m award for refurbishment and upgrade work to the Tees Transporter Bridge. The HLF supported Tees Transporter Bridge Visitor Experience Project included the installation of a glass viewing lift to provide improved access to the upper walkway, renovation of the gondola, replacement of the Bridge's motors and the development of state-of-the-art visitor facilities and resources.
Another tick on my places to visit list and although disappointed due to it being too windy to operate on the day I was there, still very much worth the journey up from Somerset just to see it. Will visit again perhaps in the summer months to actually use this engineering masterpiece.

Having just moved into the area I've quickly discovered that not all dog friendly places are really dog friendly. But this one is! Excellent food, by an amazing top genius chef. Friendly and efficient staff. Superb sports bar. Keep up the amazing work!!!
