I don't remember the last time I've enjoyed a town museum this much. Located in the former jail and courthouse, which is woven into the story. Great staff, superbly labeled and presented displays, really told the story of the town in the context of the times, engages kids, has community events, was topical, and well laid-out. I found nothing eccentric about it (per some reviews) but I thought it was really quite professional. Admission is free for those from the surrounding area, a modest £3 for those outside the area. It's in a great location to prowl the rest of town and do some shopping, too. Nice book selection as well.

Classic cinema experience, nothing too much to shout about. Several fairly overpriced confectionaries as per normal, but the plus for this cinema is that it is still relatively modern and tends to be quite quiet. Not sure if people have fully cottoned on to it!

I really recommend crafty monkey.Hi Lalitha Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. I'm pleased your little artists enjoyed their time at Crafty Monkey and we hope to see you again soon. A new business venture that deserves to prosper.
Excellent ale and a good range of low alcohol drinks which kept my other half happy.
It seems based on the philosophy of the Fat Cat in Ipswich and in Norwich. No loud music, no slot machines and no cooked meals. Somewhere to go and have a conversation, over a beer, if anyone remembers that.
Comfortable inside and what a great use of space in the rear garden.
Friendly barman, what else could you want?
Tip: Watch opening times though, some days it does not open until 16.00.

This was a Friday evening so the pub was reasonably busy. There were three of us eating and we decided to have a plate of Nachos to share as a starter. This arrived within a reasonable time and, as it was a starter, we took our time to eat and chat. When we had finished our server quickly arrived and asked if we were ready for our main courses. We felt that we would have liked a slight pause but as the server was clearly trying to speed up the service we agreed. Two of us were having burger and the third was having gammon. Unfortunately when the food arrived it was all rather dry and it looked as though it had been sitting under the warming lights for quite a while. I understand that often people are in a hurry to eat but I think that it would be a good idea if customers were asked and, if they aren't in a hurry, that the main course isn't cooked until the customers are ready.
The staff are very pleasant and, usually there is a good range of draft ales available. Unfortunately when we visited two ales weren't available meaning that there was a choice of one.
We'll probably visit again but perhaps on a less busy night when we'll tell the server not to rush the main course.

Been a few times with different people. Everyone has enjoyed it. Can't complain when there is a decent Long Island Iced Tea in front of you!
