Family day out with ages ranging from 2 to 81, Set in a great location just along from Loch Lomond, the restaurant has lovely decor,The staff were excellent and attentive throughout, even with two kids running around,. The food was good if not spectacular but sufficient for a lunchtime. All round a good experience

Met up with friend. Christmas menu looked lovely food was ok but the restaurant was so cold it was hard to enjoy. Service was excellent very attentive. This restaurant is very isolated especially at night it as very dark to walk alone back to car park. Don’t think I would come again especially at night in cold weather

Here with family for lunch and once again it was lovely, the food was excellent, large portions at a very reasonable price. We had 1 very small problem with my daughter's meal and it was replaced very quickly and the staff were very apologetic and it was dealt with in a very professional manner, great service which you do not always get these days. I would highly recommend this place and will be back very soon. Thanks again for a great lunch.

Do you like Indian cuisine? If you do, you will love Golden Star in Balloch in Loch Lomond! A fully licensed restaurant, we have been proudly serving the local area for over a quarter of a century. During that time, our family run restaurant has built up a wonderful reputation for great food, competitive prices and a wonderful dining experience in a vibrant and relaxing environment. So whether you are treating your family to a meal or entertaining clients, make sure you pay us a visit for an unforgettable experience! Curry Balti Dishes Here at Golden Star, we offer a wide range of delicious and nutritious Eastern dishes, including korma and nantara, as well as offering a wide selection of European and vegetarian cuisine for you to choose from. We offer highly competitive prices, along with a free loyalty discount card (please ask for details). In addition, we provide excellent customer service, treating all our customers as valued guests, and striving to make everyone feel welcome.
Most of us have been in this position at some time, cajoled into shuffling into a restaurant because it's "handy" and "not bad" or so we are informed but, in the end, such approval is seen to be well off the mark, at least in terms of cuisine.
Such was the case regarding this place. Several months had elapsed since a sit-in visit, then, recently, take-away was suggested while in the area.
Now the opinion had been formed that what the Golden Star offered to the paying customers, could really not deteriorate a great deal. Wrong.
When four containers were opened, there appeared little, or no, difference in appearance. When it came to flavours, Dansak tasted like Bhona, tasted like . . . You get the gist.
I have tried to make different Indian themed dishes at home, it is not terribly difficult, and if little else, they all had a distinctive appearance and taste.
I am not sure the calibre of opposition the Golden Star has in Balloch but whatever, it would not have to be all that exciting to eclipse this place.

Cucina is a Modern Contemporary Italian Style Restaurant, inspired by Italy...created at Cucina.
We visit Cucina fairly regularly. More recently we visited for a 50th celebration with family - 26 of us. Irrespective of the size of our party, the service was impeccable as was the food. All orders arrived - correct and within a reasonable time for the number of us. Every single dish was delicious as I'd asked how everyone's meal was. Fillet steak in particular is huge, cooked to order and delish. All in all still one of our favourite places to go. Cannot fault Jason and his team for service.

Edinburghs esteemed chef, Martin Wishart, has added a touch of Michelin-starred luxury to the already impressive Cameron House a stylish hotel on the shores of Loch Lomond. Head Chef Stewart Boyles worked with Martin in the kitchen at Restaurant Martin Wishart, so its no surprise that the food here is similarly flawless. The menu features elegant French dishes like roast John Dory forestire with truffle jus; Jerusalem artichoke velout with langoustines; and a lighter-than-air passion fruit souffl. The restaurant itself is light and airy with striped chairs, comfortable banquettes and shades of taupe and plum creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The attentive service, unpretentious atmosphere and thoughtfully chosen wine list complete this unforgettable dining experience.
FABULOUS in every way!!!
Sun 26 Nov, 12:30, x2 - Sunday Lunch
I am a regular at Cameron House, using the Boathouse as my 'local' from the Marina, and Great Scots Bar / Cameron Grill for "nights out", byt only my 2nd visit to MW. My first was 3 years ago for the "taster" menu, but this time just for lunch.
Fabulous value at £32 per head for 3 courses, cos by the time you have all the canapés etc, it's far more than 3!
We both opted for the £25.50 option to have matching wines too.
Also, as there are 2 options per course, we chose to go 50:50 on every dish, so just had ONE of every of dishes on the "Du Jour" menu.
The main course lamw was "to die for", but all of the other dishes were fab too, ditto the canapés.
Faultless service, great Sommelier, awesome food - we're back there in 2 weeks for a repeat!!!
FINE DINING at its very best - you'd be doing amazingly well to find a better place to eat ANYWHERE!!!!!

The food is absolutely amazing. The garlic mushrooms were absolutely delicious! The catch of the day was pike and I had it with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The fish was fresh and well prepared and was accompanied by freshly boiled veggies.
My partner had a delicious cullen skink and the steak pie which was accompanied by hand cut fries, some of the best I have ever tasted.
The staff was very welcoming and charming. We have enjoyed it and will definitely go back!

Food was fantastic gluten free onion rings and fish super best I've tasted. Other half had the haggis and black pudding fritters best haggis he's tasted. If you're in the area go! You will not be disappointed!

The main restaurant is stylish and informal, with striking baronial themed decor and intimate lighting that help pay tribute to the history of the building. This restaurant features an open kitchen, unique salmon bar and delicious locally sourced produce from Cairnhill farm, there is a strong emphasis on traditional steak dishes. Fresh seafood offerings also feature heavily, with much of the produce sourced from Loch Fyne. There are also plentiful child and vegetarian options available.
The restaurant is a fantastic Grill that will deliver everything from a beef Wellington to a Pork chop the setting is first class and service is to match with noting to much trouble.

The Cruin is situated along Loch Lomond about 5 minuted drive north of Balloch
We planned our wedding here with the on site wedding planners. And eventually tied the knot on the 4/6/2016. They went above and beyond to accommodate our special day. And boy oh boy what a day. Everything was perfect. They even somehow managed to have the weather to be perfect too. So our photographer was really pleased.
We have been to the Cruin before the wedding just for food. And the menu and dishes are to die for. The service is first class. I honestly cant think of a bad point to say about them. We will go back for as long as they will have us.
