A really well planned trip by the profesional guide. A schedule was presented at the beginning of the trip.
John was fully prepared for any circumstances ( water, water proof clothes, cookies, etc)
He was very nice and caring, he had big knowledge of the history of Scotland, patiently answered milions of our guestions. Even though the wether
was rainy and unpleasant ( typically scottish) the time passed quickly.
On the whole the trip was really successful and we can recommend it to everybody.
If you are not prepared for the trip John always is.

Great local meat, hand made ice cream and milk from the herd on site. Proper non-homogenised although still pasteurised. In fact, so old school that my accompanying teenagers refused to drink it as they are not used to cream on the top of milk and refused to believe that it hadn't "gone off". But they are the sort of teenagers who don't understand how I accessed facebook before we had mobile phones.....

Portnellan Organic Farm

Portnellan is a family run organic beef farm on the southern shore of Loch Lomond and has been farmed by the Scott-Park family since 1952. Over the last few years Portnellan has diversified into self-catering, glamping, speedboat tours, paddle board hire and boat moorings. The farm occupies a magnificent location on the shores of Loch Lomond and offers panoramic views over the loch and Mountains. Only 40 minutes from Glasgow, Portnellan Farm offers both privacy and seclusion whilst being easy to get to from both Glasgow and Edinburgh. The farm has its own pier from which Chris operates speedboat tours and SUP hire. At 24 miles long and up to 5 miles wide, Loch Lomond is the UK's largest inland body of water and probably the most famous! Explore some of the most beautiful scenery Scotland has to offer by luxury speedboat or by paddle board.

When it comes to unparalleled beauty, you'd be hard-pushed to find somewhere that competes with Portnellan. My new husband and I have travelled a lot and can honestly say we've never had a nicer stay anywhere in the world and are extremely grateful to David, Freda and Chris for making it so special.
I could go on and on about everything we loved, but in short, it was all perfect. Stunning views, clean and cosy accommodation, excellent facilities, great communication in the run-up to and throughout our stay and a super-friendly family made our trip seamless and enjoyable and we'll definitely return one day. Thank you, David, Freda and Chris for such a wonderful week!

Another excellent museum to complete the overall maritime experience started at Irvine. Our guide, Anne, was extremely knowledgeable and explained the history and workings of the Company in an interesting and intriguing manner. This is a must do walk hill climb if visiting Loch Lomond.
Only takes 45 mins to the top if you are very fit. Starting from the visitor centre car park (free) Fantastic views of the Loch and surrounding areas. Very steep in places but our Jack Russell whose legs are only bit shorter than mine, made it with a few rests on the way up. But I need to admit it took him 3 days to recover.
I found it very steep on the way down and it took a lot longer to get down that it did to get up!

Balloch Castle Country Park

Reviewed By Floflegs - Balloch, United Kingdom

This is a great place for walks. If you are feeling energetic you can do a long walk right round the end via the Fairy Glen. If not you can cut down to the shore via the zigzag path. Good playparks for wee ones at the bottom and a cafe by the jetty. Toilets there too. Downside is if you have parked in the car park it is a steep climb back up. The castle has been having work done and looks better. There are some amazing tree sculptures to seek out. Great place too for a picnic on a good day. Dogs have plenty of space to run around. There are 2 Gardens. A walled one with lovely borders where you can have a seat and a Chinese one near the castle. Well worth a visit.

Visited the birds of prey centre with two friends on a day trip up to Balloch. It’s a fantastic centre with many different types of birds of prey and well worth the visit (even in the rain).
The birds are well cared for and there are a few displays and pieces of information throughout the area and inside huts about various birds of prey and falconry and although it’s a very small attraction you will not be left dissapointed.
Loved seeing the different species of birds of prey and would definitely return in the future. You can easily spend anywhere from thirty minutes to an hour here but it’s definetely worth it because you are helping the birds of prey and the centre.
