Helensburgh (/ˈhɛlənzbrə/; Scottish Gaelic: Baile Eilidh, lit. 'town (or burgh) of Helen') is a town within the Helensburgh and Lomond Area of Argyll and Bute Council, Scotland. It also has its own Community Council. Until local government reorganisation in 1996 Helensburgh was in Dumbarton District and hence also in Strathclyde Region; prior to 1975 it was a small burgh with its own town council within Dunbartonshire. In the Middle Ages it was within the Earldom of Lennox, an area sometimes referred to as The Lennox. It lies on the north shore of the Firth of Clyde and the mouth of the Gareloch is close to the western boundary of the town.

For Architects and aficionado's alike: Charles Rennie Mackintosh's seminal work: Hill House, built in a small waterside country village about 40 minutes from the center of the city is a must see when visiting. The house fits into it's late 19c suburban neighborhood like a beacon to the future - the exteriors are compositionally beautiful, the interior spaces flow room after room, on several floors, in the most interesting way - with inventive details that create their own language...it's like no other house, and so influential to Architects that followed after.

Not much has changed with the pier since I was a kid (in the 1960's). We used to live round the corner in Cove and would often drive to Kilcreggan and take the local ferry or even the Waverley just for a trip. Those were the days and nice to see some of the characteristics of the pier haven't changed in 50 odd years!

Stunning panoramic views over the river Clyde from this unique location. Take in picturesque sunsets, the Mountains of Arran, the Clyde sea lochs, Ben Lomond and beyond. If you’re visiting Greenock on a cruise there’s no need to travel to Loch Lomond or Glasgow, Inverclyde has many beautiful walks and places to visit. The only bad thing about this view is that it’s frequetly blighted by the heinous and abominable trident submarines travelling to and from thei base. The British government has decided that the population of this area are worthwhile colartetal damage in the event of an attack or nuclear accident.

A really well planned trip by the profesional guide. A schedule was presented at the beginning of the trip.
John was fully prepared for any circumstances ( water, water proof clothes, cookies, etc)
He was very nice and caring, he had big knowledge of the history of Scotland, patiently answered milions of our guestions. Even though the wether
was rainy and unpleasant ( typically scottish) the time passed quickly.
On the whole the trip was really successful and we can recommend it to everybody.
If you are not prepared for the trip John always is.

We are a small family run dairy farm on the banks of Loch Lomond, promoting fresh local Scottish produce. We have a range of locally supplied meat, veg and condiments to suit all you foodies out there. Opening Hours: 7 days a week, 10am-6pm.
Great local meat, hand made ice cream and milk from the herd on site. Proper non-homogenised although still pasteurised. In fact, so old school that my accompanying teenagers refused to drink it as they are not used to cream on the top of milk and refused to believe that it hadn't "gone off". But they are the sort of teenagers who don't understand how I accessed facebook before we had mobile phones.....

Smashing friendly bar with plenty variety of drinks, tons of whisky and a clientele which do the area proud.
Proprietor is a lovely guy and happy to chat away and get the rounds in, he's passionate about his business and customers love him.
I've just moved to the area and I'm actually proud to call it "my local" the other people enjoying the premises were not just locals but quite a lot of far travelled revellers which in itself says a lot.
Highly recommended.

We have just completed this and myself, my partner and our friends had a great time! From entering Viv was so friendly and a good laugh, one of my acrylics broke doing my harness and Viv came to the rescue with a file then Fiona managed to save my nail ! Thanks girls. Through the adventure Viv was so supportive and without her myself and my friend would have gave up! We all had a laugh and would go back again !
