Iconic Pier situated along the waterfront in Sidney BC
A sweet little pier with lots of character. Amazing views of the surrounding waters, distant Mountains, and even Washington State in the near distance.
Water, waves, rocks, seagulls all combine to make you feel part of the local environment.
Nearby street parking might be available so only a short walk out to the end of the pier takes you right out of Sidney.....or so it feels.
A lovely fish monger is located on one side of the pier end and an interesting little restaurant occupied the other side. Have enjoyed the seafood products from the fish store but still have to get back to check out the little restaurant.

Went to a nail spa for mani-pedi..had continental breakfast at our hotel. Lovely and great view of the harbour! Ferries were great, did miss one as it was full but the two hour wait went fast. Would recommend this trip, great value!

My wife and I are not regular bike riders, but we do take a ride out to Sidney every so often. More often than not, we walk the Lochside Trail. We will often take a walk out to the farms and birdwatch or divert over to Island View Beach. You will share the trail with runners, walkers, joggers, bikers and Horses. There are some biker riders which don't pass at a safe speed, but what are you going to do? The trail provides a lovely walk in all seasons. Give it a go!

Our second day out on the boat led us to an overnight anchorage at Sidney Spit. We loved it, so protected, quiet and lovely. There were a number of campers that we could see along the wonderful sand shoreline, as well as a number of other boats anchored and enjoying the space. Crabbing was wonderful there, catching 8 within a couple of yours, 4 being keepers. A wonderful, unexpected find!

We've always enjoyed shows at the Charlie White Theatre in the Mary Winspear Centre. The theatre is the perfect size - large enough to support major acts, but small enough to be intimate and comfortable. The box office staff are very friendly and accomodating.

Every Thursday night from May - August, the Town's charming main street, Beacon Avenue, is closed to traffic and transformed into one of the most spectacular, festive street markets in British Columbia. With over 150 vendors offering everything from locally grown produce, handmade jewellery by local artisans, one of a kind clothing, toys, flowers, handmade soaps, home-made breads, jams, fudge and so much more; there is something for everyone in the family! The Sidney Street Market attracts up to 5,000 people a night who all come to savour the flavours, see the sights and listen to the sounds of a myriad of musical performers. The Sidney Street Market is a must see and do event for everyone's summer activities list.
This is not your usual street market full of "tat and cheap souvenirs".
There is good quality produce, food to eat, and local products.
Plenty of food and drink outlets as well as local produce stalls make this a very pleasurable experience. Many locals attend, so it is much more than the usual tourist trinket market.
There was also a couple of bands/groups playing to add to the atmosphere.
Really is one of the best of its type we have visited Worldwide.

To accommodate Victoria Spirits’ growing business, they recently moved to a larger location on the beautiful waterfront, in Sidney, BC and opened their doors in May of 2016. Their name also changed to Victoria Distillers bringing a new focus as makers and collaborators to highlight the distillery as a tourist destination you definitely don’t want to miss. The new site houses two copper pot stills, continuing to produce award-winning spirits including Victoria Gin and Empress 1908 Gin . Visitors are guided through the entire distillation process and around the gleaming stills giving them an intimate look into one of BC’s finest artisan Distilleries. Following a tour, visitors are able to taste their premium spirits and bitters neat. The waterfront location also has an on-site lounge*, along with an outside patio area, where guests can enjoy their favorite cocktails. Tours are available on the hour from 12-4 pm Friday to Sunday. *Lounge closed for the season.
Victoria distillers crafts fine gin, vodka and whiskey along with bitters. They are set up for tastings and food in their lounge near the Sidney wharf. You can relax on their big comfortable patio and enjoy drinks made with their crafted spirits and take in the views. We enjoyed the GinRoasted Almonds along with our drinks. I will be back.
