Ahlbeck is a district of the Heringsdorf municipality on the island of Usedom on the Baltic coast. It is the easternmost of the so-called Kaiserbäder ("Imperial Spas") seaside resorts on the German part of the island, situated right next to the border with Poland and the town of Świnoujście (Swinemünde). Both communities are freely connected by the longest beach promenade in Europe spanning more than 12 km (7 mi) from Bansin to Świnoujście.

Located in the hinterland of the highly frequented sea side resorts of Ahlbeck and Heringsdorf on the Island of Usedom in Germany's top North-Eastern corner right on the border with Poland you'll find this natural idyllic scene.
The lake and its forest surroundings invite you for relaxing walks alongside the edge of the lake.
The round tour walk takes between 1-2 hours. They are benches for having a rest along the way. To ride a push bike around the lake is also possible.
In addition you can hire a boat to spend some time on the lake itself.
You can also enjoy some cool and hot drinks, snacks and cakes and coffee at a picturesque kiosk.
The lakes invites its visitors to swim in it at a little beach as well.
A playground for young children is located next to the beach, too.
For nature lovers there is one more highlight to be explored. Another small lake called Schwarzes Herz is to be found deeper in the forest, about a few hundred meters from the Wolgastsee.

When you are in nord Germany, by a raining day it will be nice to visit this hangar of planes, an exceptional show of old planes of the II war, very interesting for pilotes, young boys and everyone else; to see accidented warplanes and many other models;

For some reason, Germans think Heringsdorf is posh. It's not. It's tacky, overcrowded and loud. A bit like Southend. The long drive up from the Mainland is justified by nothing at all.
