We took the Tegelbergbahn cable car up to the top of Mount Tegelerg and really enjoyed our entire experience here.
The cable cars run about every 10 mins during the day - during our visit there were only 2 running, one is going up while the other is coming down.
The panoramic views of the surrounding area is spectacular...you can see the areas lakes, towns, and Castles as well as the nearby Mountains and alps.
Watching the hang gliders prepare and lift off from up there is really fun and we also enjoyed watching them soar around like birds - we counted over 10 in the air at the same time while we were up there.
We hiked the Konigsrunde am Teleberg trail while at the top of the mountain and were rewarded with some incredible views to the back/side of the mountain, looking towards France, Austria, and the Swiss Alps. The hike itself was well marked. It took about 30 minutes each way along a gravel, rocky, and steadily ascending/descending path.
And before taking the cable car down we enjoyed a very nice lunch in the restaurant.
We had a beautiful clear, hot, sunny day during our visit and it was so enjoyable and worthwhile.....you don't want to miss out on this!

Stopped at this Lake for an afternoon picnic while driving from Wurzburg to Fussen, along the Romantic Road. Located just minutes from Schloss Neuschwanstein.
We parked for free near a Catholic church (on Forggenseestrabe) and a pier. Walked down the paved path and located a cute beach next to the Lake. Enjoyed lunch surrounded by the amazing water and Alp's view, an delightful afternoon pit stop.
Highly recommend staying in this cute retirement town. Close to the Castle and Fussen. Nice walkways and great vibe. FYI we were unable to locate public toilets but were lucky to utilize the ones in the Sailing Clubs facilities. Many kind thanks!

Aside from this being a clear and clean alpine lake, it has a killer view of the Alps and Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau.
You can stop here if you choose to walk over to either castle from Fussen, or just wander up this way for a swim or a picnic. There are WCs, so you can change there, but no other services and no lifeguards.

We turned the corner and noticed this little church standing alone in the meadow. It has a very pretty interior, which was lovely to wander around, or sit quietly and reflect. Neuschwanstein Castle is just up the hill on the left from the church.

Находится чуть в стороне от центра деревни, рядом с курпарком. Очень фотогеничная - что с улицы, что на фоне гор (нужно подняться в курпарк). Красивый барочный алтарь и картины "Крестный путь". Фото размещу после добавления объекта.

We were waiting for the cable car to leave and we visited the ruins. They were quite nice, but it is very small and nothing major. Good to check if you have never seen such ruins before.

Happened upon the church while enjoying a trip from Wurzburg to Fussen, along the Romantic Road.
Parked next to the church while hunting for a picnic lunch area. Stopped in briefly. Beautiful! Wonderful stained glass. Side chapel had interesting, contemporary stained glass. Excellent location next to the Lake and surrounded by the Alps.
Take a moment for contemplation
