On our route to Frankfurt from Prague we had a short lunch break in Würzburg. The Alte Mainmuhle sits along the river by the foot bridge! Sitting outside in the sun made the experience even better! The food was fantastic! The pumpkin and chanterelle soups were wonderful. Our wait staff was friendly and the service was swift!

After Reading reviews before we made our Reservations for a Saturday night, we arrived thinking this was the best place to eat. Well, not so for me. There are no menus so you have to listen very carefully to the waiter who quickly goes over the available entrees. We did order the tapas appetizer which was an assortment of olives, meats, cheeses, spreads & some bread. That was good. I ordered the fish entree that was a big disappointment. It was 2 pieces of soft mushy fish coated in a heavy layer of potatoes. Honestly the only thing you could taste was the potatoes. This was accompanied by ratatouille vegetables that were overdone. My husband's entree was a pork dish that was better than mine. We did sample some local white wine and were given 2 choices from which to choose. Their local house wine proved to be the best. I personally feel that it is way over rated.

Having just returned from a tour of Vienna, Wurzburg and Aachen again, I felt I had to post a further review of the Lammle. This has now become a "must visit" to my wife and me. The food is well cooked local cuisine, accompanied by either a good local wine or beer (I've become quite partial to Distelhauser!). The sheer pleasure of eating outside under one of the umbrellas(to protect from falling horse chestnuts) on a mild September evening is not to be missed in our opinion. The staff are friendly and efficient, and the location just off the main square is very pleasant indeed.
I had the roast pork in a DistelHauser sauce and my wife had the Zander fillet. Both were delicious and perfectly cooked.
We will undoubtedly eat/drink here again on our next visit.

Visited with my wife who is originally from Würzburg and my in-laws, on their recommendation. We were greeted by the owner, who is a very nice gentleman. He speaks good English too. The chef is a genuine sushi master, who effortlessly creates wonderful fresh sushi at incredible speed. I had a chilli and ginger soup to start, ingredients were fresh and we'll prepared. And then I had a plate of mixed sushi. I have to say that the food was excellent, fresh ingredients, beautifully presented and garnished, and of course super tasty. The restaurant is clean and tidy, and clearly in good repair. The food prices are value for money and at lunchtime you can have a all you can eat option. I would happily recommend this restaurant and look forward to eating there again.

Every restaurant can be hit-or-miss. Last time, the Weinstuben Juliusspital was a hit. This time not. Also, we discovered that the discount we were supposed to get of 10% on food purchases upon showing our CityCard was not fully honored. We only got 10% off our two entrees, not any other food.

The pulse of Franconia beats in the heart of Wuerzburg. You can feel it ? Or rather taste it - in the historic surroundings of the Stachel, which is a restaurant and wine bar. As a wine bar, the Stachel offers the best wines in Franconia. There is wine tasting every Saturday in the restaurant's very own wine cellar. You also need something solid to line your stomach, so that the wine does not go to your head. Franconian delicacies and the presentation is creative. He cooks authentically using locally sourced ingredients which are mostly organic ? And it shows in the taste.
Very nice restaurant in old restored building with cozy yard. Franconian cooking in it's best - high class souces for each dish, perfect wine paring (very good advises from the staff). Mainly local people enjoying it's celebrations here.
Riesling soup and Franconian black pudding is the most unusual, but perfect dishes -
I think it's "must try" dishes here. Strongly recommend reservation!

Order a "geknickte mit", that's enough. You will get a Bratwurst in a roll with mustard, geknickt means folded, so it is easier to enjoy. Once you have passed the loong queue, you will be served within seconds. It's even great fun to watch the service ladys, amongst them nearly always also the owner, folding the sausages. Better order two at least ;-)

Beautiful yard with a great ambiant.
Most of the food was quite good. Especially the wine soup and the lamb meat balls. But when filet minion strips with vegetables and potatoes comes as a Chinese beef with vegetables in a lake of soy souce...that's not good. Burgers for the kids were inconstant, ine was good and one was not done right throughout.
Overall we had great expectations but experience was so so

Amazing Italian set in a lovely little shop. The grilled vegetable plate was wonderful not to mention the tomato soup was fresh and didn't have that tinny taste you get from canned tomatoes. The Gents working did and excellent job. Oh yes, the fresh hot ciabotta bread was like icing on the cake! Sorry no pics. The food was so good we could resist digging in!
