One of Germany’s biggest and best-known resorts, Bavarian Alpine village Oberstdorf is popular with families year round. It’s home to Heini-Klopfer-Skiflugschanze, the world's second largest ski-jumping hill (and site of the famous "agony of defeat" ski-jump wipeout clip from ABC's Wide World of Sports). Nearby are the ski areas of Nebelhorn, Kanzelwand/Fellhorn and Kleinwalsertal.

Although we knew that Breitachklamm is very popular destination we were surprised by number of tourists at the place, although weather that day was not perfect. We didn't have a problem with parking, were able to find place at the parking place directly at the entrance and all visitors behave surprisingly thoughtfully, but still it was not very comfortable. At the other hand the scenery is breathtaking, so I think visiting it was worth it that little discomfort. After visiting the canyon we decided to hike a bit in neighborhood. The trails were almost free of hikers, walking was not very difficult and was very enjoyable. Nature in the area is beautiful.

Took Kanzelwandbahn up to Bergstation, magnificent views to surrounding snow capped Mountains on a beautiful sunny day. The walk up to the Walser Hammerspitze is a little bit challenging in places but well worth the effort. Awesome views also to the Kleinwalsertal.

A very scenic summit which features a cafe and a restaurant. The way upto the top is serviced by gondolas and costs €35 if you aren't skiing. The prices at the restaurant is very reasonable and the views are so good it's worth every penny.

The Erdinger Arena is one of the most impressive and most beautiful ski jumping stadiums in the world. Almost daily national and international training groups practice on the jumping hills in the arena. In addition, numerous events such as the Four Hills Tournament, Concerts and much more take place every year. A ski museum, guided tours, the “skywalk-park” between the jumping hills and a restaurant complete the experience.
to all winter fans out there, the erdinger arena is simply a must see. for a nominal fee, you could tour around the arena until the platform where you could enjoy a panoramic view of this quaint city. if you are lucky enough, you might see some athletes on their training.

Go and watch the alpine people doing what they do best. This is simply a mad but addictive audience sport. Enjoy!

Went on a slow hike towards the lake and, in the end the view was rewarding. In winter it is a nice place to rest, maybe have coffee or lunch and then hike back to the village.

Perfect location right next to the train station at the beginning of the city center, when coming from parking place 3 (P3). Very friendly and competent people. Got all information I asked for.
I am, however, not sure about their English skills, for I talked to the German.
