Seelust

We had a wonderful sunday-lunch at the Seelust - the second for me this year. The seasoning of the sauces is excellent and the meat as well as the fish is prepared in an excellent way. Nice salades and desserts and a very good selection of wine. The somelier, Mr. Klarer, recommended us the perfect wine for our lunch consisting of meat and fish.
To eat outside in the garden under the trees is just marvelous. Very friendly and well trained staff!

we had a meeting at this hotel, the facilities were okay, the food was great, but the whole property needs a mojor facelift, it is overrated as a 4 star hotel. it has a great location just next to the bodensee but this hotel is close to bankruptcy. they need an investor with handful of experience in the hotel industry plus a team of marketing experts.

Had the opportunity to dine at this recommended restaurant on our last trip to Germany. It was a superb dining experience. The menu is filled with great food provided by a creative chef. Every entree proved to be delightful especially the duck breast. there are two sections in the restaurant, one classic German, and the other, minimalist modern. Both areas are delightful and welcoming. The breakfast buffet is one of the best we have encountered in Germany.

stayed in Arbon for the summer days Festival, and booked this place in advance after checking trip advisor. We were not disappointed! Excellent Service staff, friendly, helpful and attentive without being instrusive. The Food was the star of the Show from the bread and butter and the Quality of the meat and Pasta, was excellent! People kept arriving, some without booking, and were waiting for a table even at 9.30pm. it must have a good Reputation - which is well deserved. i can't wait to visit this place again,

Panem Restaurant

Already in my childhood I was fascinated by the music and I learned to play several instruments. My musical I NTERESTS but were in a constant change. Through productions like "Das Boot" (U96) and "Do not you want me" (Felix) I discovered my passion in 1993 on the electronic music world. The art of mixing electronic sounds fascinated me so much that I in 1996 my first DJ -Equipment acquired. A few years after I had first gigs in Trance parties such as Virtual Dome, Vision of Trance in EventHouse Basel, Niaxa Bulach and at various radio stations. My personal highlights are today Bookings at Trance Night at Oxa, Trance4Life in Mad Club, Lake Parade in Geneva, on the Lovemobiles the Street Parade and my Honorable role as resident DJ of the Fire Dance at Thurgau Club Firehouse. Since my start as a DJ are cohesion, mutual respect and tolerance rather the most important thing for me. One of my inner principles that at the top always love to stand for music and this should not be dominated by the ambition to succeed, keep me healthy success. I am pleased to share this passion with you in the future. Your Sonoro

We we're driving towards the Bodensee and stumbled across Panem. It was a surprise as there wasn't much around the area and yet it was full of people. We decided to give it a try. We only had simple salads (which were hugely expensive by Canadian standards), but the quality was good and so was the service. It is a bright restaurant on a couple of levels with lots of windows. I wouldn't go out of my way to go to Panem, but if you are nearby, it's a good choice.

Restaurant Romerhof

The Restaurant - Hotel de charme Romerhof is a small charming hotel that consists of 11 hotel rooms, Gourmet restaurant, 2 separate historic halls, Cigar Lounge and is located directly in the centre of the old town of Arbon only a few steps away from the Lake of Constance. Pamper yourself with some culinary delights in the Gourmet Restaurant with French and intentional Cuisine. The cosy atmosphere and attentive service render make it an unforgettable experience.

The Römerhof is located in the old part of Arbon town and the restaurant is simply but nicely decorated with clean, white rooms. The menu offers a selection of dishes including food reflecting the chef’s Mauritius heritage. All of the dishes were exquisitely presented; it was almost a shame to eat them. The food was also of very good quality.
The reason I didn’t award five stars is that the prices are quite high and somehow all of us felt that despite the quality of the food, it was too much to spend for a dinner. This is not to fault the service nor the cook – both were very friendly – but the total dining experience fell somewhat short of our expectations, considering the prices.

We booked a table for 7 and upon arrival were warmly greeted and escorted to the table. Drinks were ordered and came promptly. Then with a little delay menus came and it took from there another 15 minutes to place the order. Then we noticed a function inside the restaurant of about 30 people and they did not have any food yet. This concerned us.
Indeed the first soups arrived 90 minutes after ordering and the salads were not yet delivered. Inside the group complained about slow arrival of food and the manager loudly apologised and offered free Espresso and Grappa. Then I complained at the counter about our salads. The questions returned to me was: You did not receive anything yet? I sated after 90 minutes 2 soups no salads yet.
The salads arrived after 110 minutes after placing the order.
We were starving at this stage. The Italian dressing was so sweet one thought of a candy rather than a salad dressing.
When asked what was in it the answer came: Ketchup and maggi..... These two ingredients have nothing to do with an Italian dressing. I would appreciate it if the Chef spent more time in proper miss en place then rather being creative in an unwanted way.
10 minutes after the salads the food came.
it was ok not bad but not great but lacking details.
No spicy lil was offered for the Pizza, we had to ask. The Cordon Bleu came without the obligatory lemon slice and was dry. The Pasta was ok with the expectation of the Carbonara which was to put it mildly miserable and uneatable.
Then the manager came and asked us and other tables if we wanted Espresso and Grappa we said not and other tables said they wanted their food.
At the end we paid CHF 271 for 7 people which is ordinary not bad prices if the service and the food were goo but for what we received and the wait we endured it was exactly 271 CHF to much.
It was not an issue with understaffing, I counted 4 waitpersons plus one person at the dispensing bar and 3 people in the kitchen. I assume that the group announced themselves and had a set menu as customary for so many people. It seems to be a lack of organisation and total disrespect of their guests. The manager needs a lesson or development in customer care skills and diplomacy and tact. Speaking loudly and offering in desperation free Grappa and Espresso is not a good solution. I want nothing for free and nor did my family we just wanted our food in time and a more attention from service. Grappa and Espresso I can afford to pay if I wanted it.
When you hear that restaurants in Switzerland are complaining that they loose an astonishing 2,5 Billion Swiss francs to restaurants across the French, German and Austrian border then I can fully understand why after this experience. I am sure not all restaurants in Switzerland are like this but regretfully I have personally observed many cases of ok service and food for very high prices.
Wake especially this place and take better care, plan and execute well.
Needless to say we will never be back to this place and ask everyone else to be careful to got there. If you seem many people change your mind and go elsewhere. If not you go ahead but know the food is not great.
