Lynn Canyon Park

Interesting park with a suspension bridge, trails and Waterfalls and an ecology center.

Reviewed By Jim T

This is a great walk for parents with children. Eat grade. Lovely continuous view of Lynn Creek, and shade.
You can add some challenge by cross over and heading up the stairs to Seymour Conservation area. However, do this: plan your route in detail ahead of time, using all the online resources available. There are no kiosks or food service opportunities and atheletic foot wear is recommended , running shoes or hiking shoes. It's safe well travelled and impossible to get lost.

This highlight of the North Shore is in our neighborhood but what a great for visitors.
The suspension bridge, though not as dramatic as the Capilano Suspension Bridge is FREE. The location of this park land is amazing with hikes, nature centre and occasional animals.
Enjoy my neighbourhood!

TransLink Seabus

Reviewed By tysontrip - Sydney

We travelled from Lonsdale on the North Shore to Waterfront Vancouver coming back from Capilano Suspension Bridge Park.
Very efficient walking in and onto the ferry - about 10 min crossing - and exit the other side. Very simple. It landed us near Gastown where we went to dinner.
The transit pass for $10 per day per adult and $7.75 for children covers it.

Grouse Mountain

Just 15 minutes from downtown Vancouver, Grouse Mountain attracts locals and tourists alike. During the summer, guests enjoy hiking, Zip Line Adventures, paragliding, sightseeing, lumberjack shows and more. In winter, we have skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, sleigh rides among many other activities. Grouse Mountain also features several different dining venues, from café style at Lupins to casual dining at Altitudes and fine dining as a guest at The Observatory. We also have a refuge for endangered wildlife.

It goes without saying that Grouse is busy on weekends & if you're not up to the challenge then there are other options; however, Grouse has short sweet fall line terrain, glades, park, natural half pipe (coffin), first class facilities, & a tram that slows...MoreThank you for taking the time to leave such a fantastic review. We're so glad you enjoy the varied terrain we have available and the great powder days we're so lucky to have! We hope to see you on the mountain again.

Capilano Suspension Bridge Park

Only 15 minutes from downtown Vancouver, allow 2 - 3 hours for your visit to Vancouver's iconic Capilano Suspension Bridge, hanging 450 feet (137m) across and 230 feet (70m) above Capilano River. The park offers more than just the bridge. Its surrounding 27 acres celebrate nature, history and culture in unique and thrilling ways. No more so than with the newest attraction, CLIFFWALK. Cliffwalk hangs for 213m (700ft) and reaches 91m (300ft) high, hugging the granite cliffside and offering a panoramic view of the thriving rainforest and canyon far below. On Treetops Adventure venture from one magnificent old growth Douglas-fir to another on a series of seven elevated suspension Bridges, reaching as high as 110 feet (33m), for a squirrel's eye view of the forest. Guides, signage and interactive exhibits throughout the park help you in your understanding of rainforest ecosystems and their sustainability.

Visited on a wet day in March. A great experience. The bouncy suspension bridge was fun. The tree top walkway gave me a feeling of how tall the trees were. The cliff walk was a great experience. All around there was informative signage explaining about the train forest, the history and the way nature interacts with the rocks and trees. There are fantastic views.
And to top it off they were providing ponchos to protect you from the rain free of charge.
I'd love to go back when the sun was shining. Maybe not for you if you are afraid of heights.

Grouse Mountain Skyride

Scenic tram ride to the top of Grouse Mountain.

Reviewed By emtrey - Enford, United Kingdom

There are some wonderful views to be seen from the Grouse mountain skyride, but the mountain is so busy that its quite difficult to be able to enjoy them unless you're very lucky to be first on, or able to barge your way to a good position. They cram each trip full to squeezing point. If its a more relaxed, personal gondola ride with a good view then the Sea to Sky Gondola is far better.

Mount Seymour Provincial Park

A 30-minute drive from downtown, this Wilderness park includes a ski area and numerous hiking trails.

Reviewed By Tim M

We hiked up to Mount Seymour on a sunny day with excellent visibility, which added greatly to the experience.
The rocky and sometimes rooty trail ascends pleasingly through beautiful forest and past little lakes. Atop first peak, second peak and the Mount Seymour summit the views are stunning on a day with good visibility.
We saw two shy black bears eating blueberries just off the trail, were approached for food by two whisky jacks (we didn't feed them), saw one hawk, some ravens, and a chipmunk. The variety of plants is enough itself to provide enjoyment for the whole journey.
I wanted to repeat the hike the next day.

Cleveland Dam

Reviewed By Sassamatt - Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Cleveland Dam is a short drive up Capilano Road to a place that is green, parking is easy and a view of the top of the dam. It's a splendid setting to appreciate the Great West Coast Mountains, gorges and rivers. It's a quiet place compared to many of the nearby North Shore tourist attractions.
