The verandahs and classic shop fronts let your imagination step back in time. The shops are great to meander in and out of. The weather was lousy when we were there but there was enough protection that the time was not spoiled.
My only negative comment is that there is basically no lighting at night and it is VERY dark - none of the shops tend to leave their windows lit so make sure you have a torch or a phone with a light so you can find your way around.

This station takes me back to my days as a small boy standing on the platform of the East Ringwood Railway Station with its ramshackle little station house. The station house has gone now but this place still takes me back and provokes so many memories.
It wasn't uncommon as a kid to see a steam train go the East Ringwood on its way to Yarra Glen and Healesville. Something I loved.

It was cold, wet and windy when we arrived. As I climbed the tower, sleet was lashing my face. By the time I got to the top, the wind was so cold and so strong it took my breath away. So did the view mind you so it was well worth it. Sadly it was so cold I could only stay up for a couple of minutes. But on a normal day it would be easy to spend a while up there taking in the surrounding countryside.

I learnt quite a few things in Carman's Tunnel. It could of easily been a boring tour, but it was far from it with an interesting older man who happens to be a volunteer. He had so many facts and he is certainly passionate about what he does. Worth visiting just for the guide.

Stopped to look at and photograph these heritage gold mining machines several times over the last 20 years. Always worthwhile, and an education for everyone to see how gold was extracted with these large machines.
Disappointingky there's often more graffiti and other desecration of the machines and site, shame some people can't look and not touch.

The Maldon Market is a monthly farmers and makers market that brings together the very best hand made products and local produce from independent designers, artisans, craftspeople, gourmet food makers, growers and farmers.
Maldon is always worth a visit. Such a gorgeous little town with great historic value. I love markets and this one doesn't disappoint. Some lovely products available. Beautiful jewellery made by a local artist and some lovely glassware as well. I could easily go broke shopping at markets like this!

This museum houses historic machinery, engines and accessories from around the Central Victoria. Many of the machines, beautifully crafted in an era when pride was taken in not only the operation of the machine but also in its design and looks. The enthusiasts that restore and operate the museum are dedicated to preserving this history and have put together a magnificent display. We found our guide very informative and open to answering our questions. Some of the machines can be operated for demonstrations. Allow 1-2 hours, depending on your interest level.

It's always good to speak with a local to get the inside knowledge! We offer a great range of brochures, maps, walking trails, merchandise and accommodation details to add to your visit.
We made the Info Centre our first stop in Maldon and weren't sorry. The volunteers greeted us with a smile - they were seated at a table, not behind desks and this was a very friendly way to start our visit. Robyn, who assisted us, could not have been more helpful, and we emerged full of maps, brochures and a clear vision of how to spend our time, including a great recommendation for a lunch spot.

Loved roaming this Cemetery! We used the brochure obtained from the information centre which outlined the heritage area and particular graves.
Loved the Chinese heritage and the respect given.
Toilets were well maintained.
An extra highlight was a mob of 20+ kangaroos accompanying our entry along the Back Cemetery road.
