Old world charm with new world style, this classic country hotel is at the heart of the Yarra Valley. We are now offering great food, seven days of the week using the best of the season and region. Choose from a selection of smaller snacks and tastes to nibble on with your glass of local wine... Next, let us carve some of our famous K&B charcuterie; Italian parma ham, bresaola, Spanish salamis, and our house made pork, veal and pistachio terrine... served with crusty bread, little pickled vegetables and caper berries. Our kitchen are slow cooking local lamb shoulders for 12 hours... and roasting local Berkshire pork belly. Finish with Sophie's selection of perfectly ripened cheeses, hand picked from our copper cheese cabinet in our providore, Kitchen & Butcher. Our new menu also features hearty classic 'pub style' dishes to satisfy the hungriest diner.
Our party of four were seated promptly, and we were amused by the collection of chairs and dining tables, as well as items displayed on the walls. Our meal was served reasonably promptly on the very busy new year weekend, by pleasant and cheerful staff,...MoreThank you for your lovely feedback Ken. We're especially pleased to read that you found our staff pleasant and cheerful! Looking forward to welcoming you back.

I've spent more than two years living in India and go there every year, and I love Indian food. Since moving to coastal Victoria, I've been consistently disappointed by "Indian" restaurants that add lots of sugar to traditional curries to accommodate Australian tastes. So I was prepared to be disappointed by this unprepossessing place at the edge of the main commercial area of Healesville. I wasn't. This is excellent Indian food, prepared with care and well presented. My wife and I shared the malai kofta and a dish with mushrooms and cashews, along with garlic naan. All were outstanding. The sauces were rich and spicy, with a perfect matching of yoghurt and curry. The naan was chewy and aromatic. We also had gulab jamun, which was well prepared, and an interesting pistachio kulfi, which has fennel flavoring. If I'd been told that in advance, I probably wouldn't have tried it, but it works. Service was great, the food came quickly. I can't recommend this place enough. If you like Indian food and you're in Healesville, give it a try.

We called in to buy 4 Cakes for Afternoon Tea on our final day in Australia. We shared the Cakes and enjoyed all 4. We were told Beechworth had a good reputation and certainly we were not disappointed with our choice.Hi ChipsMeltonMowbray Thanks for leaving your review, fantastic to hear that we lived up to expectations and you enjoyed our cakes, safe journey home. Family owned and run. Everything home made and healthy. Allergy and vegan friendly. Great for kids. Local beer and cider. Seasonal menu with local, ethically sourced produce.
Had lunch there an the trip adviser recommendations, it did not disappoint.
I had the bruschetta with heirloom tomatoes and she had the beans, both were a good size and delicious. The burgers also got the thumbs up from two men at a neighbouring table. There is Seating inside and outside and a wine tasting place next door. You order and pay at the counter.
Back for coffe today, very nice.

It's difficult to find a complete vegan breakfast that isn't either too pretentious or ridiculously priced and that you feel full and satisfied after eating. This mornings breakfast was DELICIOUS, filling, reasonably priced and organic to boot! Most cafes I end up with avo on toast with sides but today at Wombat chai I left knowing I'd be back! My friends had the crepes and the berry pancakes and were equally impressed. The staff are friendly and helpful...... you can't ask for anything more.

Recommended by another restaurant we had visited at another town, you would be greeted by a good view of the winery. There was a café area overlooking a small valley if you preferred a snack and a coffee while enjoying the view of the winery....MoreThanks for your feedback. Also thank you for suggesting for people to make bookings, I never like disappointing anyone when we are fully booked. I am glad that you enjoyed your visit and hope to see you again soon,

Cosy - great customer service - delicious food - nice atmosphere. We were here on a very cold and rainy morning for an early breakfast and were very happy with our choice.
I also took some bits and pieces to take away for afternoon tea - the brownies were amazing.

For the $ not not good value, charging Melbourne prices , please improve

Monroe's Burgers & Beers is the Yarra Valley's home of gourmet burgers. We stock an extensive range of craft beer and cider sourced exclusively from local Breweries. Our beef burgers are made from the finest cuts of locally sourced steak and ground fresh every morning.
Stopped in for dinner tonight after Reading the reviews and were not disappointed. I had a bacon/avocado/Brie burger with an extra burger patty. The beef patties were perfectly cooked, a nice juicy medium, and tasted delicious. The bacon was excellent as well. The other people in the party had a variety of burgers but with the same impression. He only disappointment was the milkshake. I asked for a thick chocolate milkshake with extra chocolate. What arrived was like a glass of milk - and not chocolate milk. Still, not enough to keep me from coming back. The burgers were probably the best we’ve had in Australia.
