A piece of Australia history. Australia’s last surviving wooden suspension bridge with four large sandstone turrets. Ironically, contrary to the valley's name, we didn't chance upon any kangaroo during our time at the valley.
This bridge is a 1-way bridge, meaning motorists are well advised to give way to oncoming to ensure smooth traffic. Do stop and have a stroll along the bridge and view the Kangaroo River flowing beneath.
Understand the history and respect the men who toil for the bridge.

If you read their description of this visitor center, you’re expecting something unique. In reality, it is just very average. Mostly a souvenir shop, with friendly helpful staff. Since none of the two outside ticket machines were in working order, to buy our pass, we had to go in. We got the pass, the info, the map, and this was all that we needed. Meanwhile noticed the adjoined cafe, and it was a plus since solved our lunch problem. The falls are accessible through the Visitor Centre, and so are the eco-friendly toilettes. Actually, they were the most welcome part of the whole facility.

Love chasing Waterfalls ???? GO HERE
Amazing waterfall... From Belmore Falls lookout it's the same as main image, however if you go to where you cross the river with the car (POSSIBLE FLOODING IF HEAVY RAINFALL - BE CAUTIOUS) you can stand right above the falls....
BE SAFE - DO NOT GO TOO CLOSE TO THE EDGE - MAY BE SLIPPERY IF YOU STEP ON WET ROCKS
--- There is also another little viewing point if you cross over to other side which allows you to see right below the falls, a swimming type pond.. Here I was able to see some people right at the bottom of the falls, HOW they got down there I have no idea but it is my Mission to FIND OUT --- So please if you have gone right below the falls before PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know how to get down there...
We tried to find some off the path walkways but each that we tried just took us to a cliff type edge with a further view of the falls.. not even close to right below the falls

The Mountain Trail Rides climb through lush subtropical rainforest on Mt Moollootoo which overlooks the property, some of the most beautiful horseriding in Australia. From the peak of Moollootoo there are panoramic views of Morton National park that make a perfect backdrop for photographs of cowboys and cowgirls on horseback.
We organised to take the kids, aged 11, 15 and 17 for a trail ride along with 2 of their friends as we were staying in the Valley for a week in the school holidays. My husband organised to drop us off, and as we pulled in behind the horse stables & we all climbed out, we were greeted by Gail, who yelled out to us 'what do you think you are doing, you can't park there'. Although I explained we were not parking, just offloading she was still unimpressed and made us feel pretty unwelcome. Not a great first impression. Geoff on the other hand was very friendly, and introduced himself to our party, and took the time to ask the kids their names, schools etc. He then thoroughly explained the safety & wellbeing of the horses etc, before we began to saddle up. After my daughters turn to saddle up, Gails comment was 'Is that your daughter...... does she always ask a million questions when she is anxious?'. Being only 11 and never been on a horse before, of course she will be anxious. The horse ride itself was lovely and Geoff was a great host. When it was time to dismount the horses, Geoff helped us one by one, and we walked the horses back to the stables. We had to stop at the bottom, and wait with our horses whilst each rider was greeted by Gail & assisted in unsaddling & walking horses back into the stables. My daughters friends horse was not keen on standing still, so Gail told her to take him for a walk in a circle, which she did. Unfortunately, through lack of experience (also first time rider) the horse accidentally trod on her foot and she started to panic. Visibly upset, she was initially ignored until I called out to Gail to help. "Oh for Gods sake, she huffed as she shook her head and walked up to take the horse from her. There was no eye contact let alone any sympathy, rather a frustrated and annoyed grunt as she snatched the lead from her. Gail then asked my sons girlfriend (in ear shot of me) 'Are you related to the others' ....to which she replied No. 'thats obvious.....they should learn to listen'.
We are certainly not precious city people by any means, but it doesn't take much to treat people, with kindness, respect & empathy (and a friendly country smile!) Perhaps the kids may have drifted their attention elsewhere from time to time during the prep talk, however it was hot & the talk was very long (45 mins), but they were NOT rude or disrespectful at any time.

Today my family and I visited Shoalhaven Zoo for the first time, and by the end of our visit we were so impressed that we upgraded our tickets to annual passes (which are great value!).
The staff are really friendly and helpful. The animals are well kept and many of free to roam large enclosures and interaction is encouraged between visitors with the friendlier animals. Animal feed is for sale at the entrance or in the farm yard for $2 per bag. Both of our girls (aged 3 and 20 months) absolutely loved feeding and patting the animals and even got to hold and cuddle a bunny.
The shows were very informative and fun for all ages, from the little ones to adults.
Views of the Shoalhaven River are absolutely gorgeous, and provided a nice breeze on a hot day like today.
There are photo opportunities provided by the zoo for a mere $10 per animal. My 3 year old wanted to have her photo taken with a huge snake, and it turned out great. Be sure to have cash on you when getting the photos taken, as they don’t accept eftpos.
We tried out the kiosk for lunch and were pleasantly surprised by the reasonable prices and delicious food.
We are all very much looking forward to returning in the very near future now that we have annual passes!

We drove to the Bendeela camping area just to experience the wildlife. It's a pretty simple camping site and a bit too chilly for us at 4 degrees overnight to stay in winter. Truly is the best place to see wild wombats and kangaroos and only a 10km drive from kangaroo valley local pub. The wildlife as used to the locals. My son was taking selfies with the friendly wombats whom weren't worried about humans being around them.

Hired a family canoe for the afternoon and loved every minute! Unfortunately, our 3 yr old wasn't as impressed. We will definitely go again next time we visit here.
