We went with the grandchildren. A little venture into local social history, it was really interesting with different rooms in the house where the things could be picked up and handled. We really enjoyed this outing and they have built a beach with deckchairs for the school holidays. A lovely outing .

This is a great park to explore and walk around. The visitors centre hosts a decent park for the kids, the rest of the park is up to you to find your fun. Worth a visit and explore.

This pub is lovely. It has a traditional rustic interior with additional conservatory and also beer garden. The service was friendly and welcoming. The food menu had plenty of choices on it and all at reasonable. We had a bit of a wait for the meals to arrive, but it was well worth it. We will definitely be going back here for future visits.

Lots of reviews on here about 4x4 and the paint balling that they do but they also offer Segway which we did as part of a small group. Good fun, well organised, good instructions from Shane and lovely tracks through the forest. Free tea and coffee and ample parking.

Went here with grandchildren for look around, to buy some plants and have a snack. Lot's of variety, typical of many such places one can buy furniture, ornaments, shoes, clothes a garden building, statues and, yes, even the odd plant. A bit unfair, they have a lot of plants for sale, but clearly make equalor more money form other things.
Went for a snack in the cafe, good value, fair selection, including gluten free, clean, pleasant and with helpful staff.
Not a bad place to visit at all.

Book onto a guided tour of the D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum. Awarded the status of “Gem Museum” by Visit England in 2016, this Literary birthplace and social history museum, is located in the beautiful county of Nottinghamshire. The D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum is the childhood home of the controversial author D.H. Lawrence, situated in the ex-mining town of Eastwood and surrounded by lovely countryside, both of which influenced Lawrence's life and literature. It is open to the public as a museum, with entry times for guided tours, and we welcome everyone to come and find out more - whether you've read any Lawrence books or not!
We turned up without booking on a freezing Tuesday as the door opened. We were warmly welcomed by Ann-Marie, who was very knowledgeable and informative as she guided us around. We started in the annex, looking at information boards and artefacts, and then watched a video about Lawrence. As this finished, Ann-Marie returned to guide us around the birthplace house itself, which was really interesting.
There are no facilities for drinks, but the cafe across the road does very good coffee and cakes.
I recommend a visit for anyone with an interest in Lawrence, 20the Century literature, or the social history of a mining community. There is a guide sheet available for a walk around the town exploring the sites of Lawrence's childhood and youth.

Four of us called in on Wednesday dinner and were able to get a table pretty quickly despite the place being busy. The place is cheerful and clean. Staff were excellent. Two of our party had Scampi, one had Fish and Chips and the last one chose the Meat Pie. None of us were disappointed and we all felt the prices were very reasonable with plenty of choice. If anything might have improved the experience I would suggest that the Scampi and Fish were both cooked a bit to much but they were still enjoyable and we will certainly return again. Thankyou to all the staff and management.

Tucked just off the main road through Stapleford the H&J is a cosy nice relaxing pub. Good range of quality ales. Spirits a bit expensive but very good range of spirits on offer. Food menu is a little limited but hearty and good value for money.
