Outercity dining in Nottingham, blending innate rusticity with finely-edged flair. Emphasis on quality and consistency.
This time instead of stating how good the food is, which it was, I would like to say that the service at the front of house is exemplary. I always forget that part of the charm of this restaurant is the relaxed, but highly precise way that the service operates. Attentive when needed, but invisible when not, it strikes the perfect balance between efficient customer service and the unobtrusive.
The Delivery of three courses and the intervening amuse-bouches were timed perfectly, allowing us to enjoy the food in a relaxed, appreciative manner, with just the right gaps in between.
Eating here is more than just an "eating out" experience. I always feel that my custom is valued and appreciated. I don't get that feeling in many restaurants these days, especially the famous name chains.
The food was excellent. We enjoyed every single dish we ordered.

Been here many times over the years and never been disappointed. Always fantastic food, and exceptional service, but tonight there was nineteen of us and how they managed to maintain that level of brilliant service was a real credit to them. Thankyou.

We are a tearoom inside an Antiques and collectables store. Within this victorian building you can have a simple cup of tea served out of a China cup, a spot of lunch, full afternoon tea or a party. Our aim is to ensure that everyone is catered for and looked after. If you would like to book a table, then please get in touch.
An unusual tearoom in an antiques shop. The food was well served and very tasty, served by friendly helpful staff. The scones were amazing. Would highly recommend this tearoom for an everyday cuppa or coffee or a superior cream tea.
The occasion we were there for a birthday party for which the venue is perfect.

The Durham Ox is the oldest inn in Ilkeston dating from 1780 with later Victorian editions. The property is steeped in history having once been used as the town gaol with secret passages taking the prisoners from the cells in the cellars up to the Church in the market place where they were tried for their crimes.A major scheme of renovation and restoration this year has returned the pub back to its origins and created a quiet relaxing haven in which to unwind and enjoy a drink or a home cooked meal....or both
This 3rd time we have met with friends here for lunch and not disappointed. Lovely roast dinner with desserts. People are amazingly friendly but our waitress Lou or Louise it looks like she is auto pilot because she comes and ask how is your meal and turns around and says your welcome or my friend says 'Hot Apple pie with custard' and she asks next hot or cold eh? Stop and listen girl!

The Hungry Horse - Mundy Arms is a family-friendly pub located in Heanor. We are famous for big value pub food and a well stocked bar with a great choice of drinks, beers and wine.
We visited the Mundy Arms on 1st Feb. The choice was extensive and the meals were all reasonably priced. There were offers on most nights - we managed to get two free desserts with our mains. The food was lovely. Staff were friendly and very helpful. We are going to make this a regular night out for the family

We have been to Basilia several times and its always consistently brilliant.
Great choice of food on the menu including a huge selection of sandwiches/panini's and main meals all at great prices.
If you've still got room for a cake afterwards then again plenty to choose from... lovely.
Not the biggest place however has a great atmosphere and there is also a shop to the front to buy some edible gifts... and more cakes to take home.
Take cash with you though as they don't have a card machine.
Well worth a visit, recommend the Brie, Bacon and Chilli Jam Panini...I'll certainly be returning,

Hidden away in the picturesque village of Stanton by Dale sits the Stanhope Arms; a traditional English pub famous for quality cask ales and fine home cooked food, from fresh local produce. We maintain a stylish drinking and eating establishment whilst retaining the traditional pub features of the lounge and upstairs restaurant. A place worth travelling to for all the family. Clearly the quality and choice of food is very important as is the level of service. Our team is committed to delivering on all three counts. The Stanhope is well known for excellent food and this is a reputation we intend to uphold. The beef we sell is well sourced locally. The meat is hung for 28 days and the quality is exceptional. The specials board which accompanies the menu has a selection of other home made dishes. We also recognise that value is important to our customers and we have introduced an enlarged range of discounted traditional meals.
9 of us had a family meal here shortly before Christmas, pub has a really nice interior and staff were pleasant even though the waitress was a bit quiet or possibly shy. Mains were generally good although some were a bit better than others -...MoreHi there, glad that you enjoyed your experience overall. We are a small, family run business, serving freshly prepared authentic Thai cuisine at a reasonable price. We are currently not licensed so you may bring your own wine or beer, soft drinks are available. We are open Thursday, Friday & Saturday evenings from 6-10pm. To avoid dissappointment please call to book a table.
Our second visit here, incredible food.. we had the 5 course set menu and loved every dish.. big portions so we could not manage puddings (and we have big appetites)..staff were polite and very helpful, although we did have to ask for more drinks.. i would say the only downfall is the toilet.. my list visit was in November and the toilet was bare plaster and unfinished tiling, I assumed they were midway through a revamp, only to find that today 7 months later it is still exactly the same! Big shame because the food is great xx
