Bl.A.
The idea is great. First time we ever enter a prison building and it felt at times rather sad looking at the exhibits of prison life. There are videos and photographs re-telling the stories of its famous prisoners and staff.Dear guest, Thank you very much for this review. It means a lot to us. Take care and we hope to see you again in the future. Best regards, Michael

It is in the center of the city, and the exhibits are spread out across 5 or more buildings. The permanent exhibit houses all sorts of engines, and there are volunteers (retired machinists, teachers, etc.) who eagerly share their knowledge and even would start some of the engines for you. I am admittedly a mechanical moron, but the guides' enthusiasm is infectious.
The exhibits are well laid out. There are lathe machines, old farming equipment, a carriage house, motorcycle display, and even a house which showed how early apartments in different decades looked. We came on a weekend where they even prepared a typical danish meal for tasting (on that day, it was fried pork). The few DKK of investment was money well spent because you appreciated how much of this part of Denmark was developed around small industries and cooperatives.

With the red train to Horsens from Braedstrup in my childhood and youth.
No bridge... Just rails on a dam... Still our rail to the city...
Now: - Excellent walking and Bike Tours on the old railway between Horsens and Braedstrup :-) In the Gudenaa-valley... The longest river/waterfloat in DK through a magnificant moreana landscape in the middle of Jutland, with beautiful landscapes-
The forgotten Bridge was covered with earh for many years because of the railway...
Now all the earth is removed, and the beautiful bridge is visible again... Also do the Gudenaa float free underneath with the tall trees in the beautifull wood above. :-

The church was built in the late 1200s as church of the Franciscan monestary. The interior of the church is mainly original with beautiful ornation. The old friars' chairs still exist, and the church is commonly used for weddings, christenings etc.
Church Concerts are also part of the repertoire, and the congregation has a Medieval Monk's Choir.

We visited Horsens Art Gallery last week and it was a lovely experience. The art is very interesting and thought provoking, some of the exhibits have explanations in English as well as Danish. The building itself is really integrated well into the landscape, with large areas of glazing which connect you with the scenery outside. It was especially interesting in the snow with the white outside reflecting the white walls inside the building. Plenty to keep you entertained for an afternoon (but not too big to be intimidating) and we also had nice lunch in the cafe after visiting the exhibits. Well worth the 30DK entry price, I will definitely be going back again.

I have not been inside Boller Slot, but only have seen the outside of it as I run past it during the early morning hours. The slot is located on one of my running routes in Horsens. It is a fine building from the outside and I can only imagine that seeing the inside would be a worthy experience. The Gardens are in themselves worth seeing.

Amazing garden with the most beautiful collection of fish in the pond. And I don't even like fish.
The best part: it is not crowded with tourists.
If you like, the gardener can tell you how he managed the whole garden by himself 7 days a week, very impressive!
