If Aalborg were a house, the real estate agent would sell it as "loaded with potential." The 1,000-year-old city is Denmark’s fourth largest, and boasts a Viking past, over 300 restaurants, a casino, lively nightlife and great shopping. The zoo breeds rare Siberian Tigers, and the Waterland and Tivoliland make it a great place for families to visit. Aalborg isn’t a hotspot for foreigners, yet. But we’ll watch as the waterfront of this busy port continues to gentrify, with expectations it will be one in the future.

The atmosphere in the inner courtyard is charming, well equiped with terras heating for the chilly nights and parasols for the sunny afternoons. The warm Italian patron is seated at his 'office table' in the centre of the restaurant, giving the place a very cosy feel, and the waiting staff is very friendly and mostly Italian.
However, the food.. I ordered the menu of the month, it can be summarized in two words; salty and overcooked.
Seeing the many good reviews here on Tripadvisor, I think I've tried the wrong things, perhaps the pizza and anitpasti are fantastic, but I can only review my experience here.

Truly excellent and creative smørrebrød with little miracles of taste and flavour as you savour through the layers. The Meat om the tatar was smooth and had exactly the right color and texture. Lobster was very delicate. The sweets following were both very delicious.

The idea with Restaurant Fusion is to provide our guests with an extraordinary culinary experience, combining cuisine from Europe and Asia in creating modern, luxurious yet healthy gourmet. The "healthy" gourmet, among other, can be experienced in our Sushi Bar where we serve one of the world's most popular and healthy foods - sushi - alongside other delicacies from the Japanese kitchen. Our concept is based on creative and "honest" Gourmet with use of both imported and fresh, local ingredients depending on seasonal availability. We are constantly looking for new ways to enhance and develop our fusion-kitchen and strive to always deliver an extraordinary culinary experience as well as present dishes that are visually alluring and surprising. Restaurant Fusion is a trendy restaurant with an inviting and lounge-like ambiance. Our Restaurant is stylishly designed with a touch of Asia in mind, and we hope that the aforementioned combined with a kind and professional staff as well as a unique view to Limfjorden at Aalborg's Waterfront, will result in a unique and memorable dining experience.

We had two small pieces of fish with a lot of cabbage and two very small glasses of wine. We paid DKK 660.- and the staff couldn't even be bothered to say good bye when we left. Wild horses couldn't drag me back.

Karma Sushi is a chain of sushi restaurants in Denmark with high quality fusion sushi. Karma Sushi is located in Copenhagen, Aarhus, Aalborg and Frederikshavn.
This is a great sushi restaurant. Went for dinner with family and had a great time. It's quite small, so booking is advisable. Tables quite close to one another, so might not suit a solo diner (which I often am with work). The restaurant menu...MoreHello John1965_7, Thank you for such an amazing review. I must admit I am not very objective in my judgement of this restaurant. I have had a favorite Tapas Restaurant in Norway for quite a while and nothing beats that. Not this one either. Sure, they had some good tapas dishes, but far from all. Of the ten dishes we tried, no doubt the best we got were the risotto and the lamb terrine. The others were OK, but that's it.
The service was excellent though - very sweet, helpful and informed waiters - the food came quickly and the premises were nice. I liked the cute, "Spanish" touch of the toilets being all red or all yellow.
A nice evening experience although not a culinary all-timer.

Went there on a cold and stormy night. The restaurant was nice and warm and we received a friendly welcome from the host. We choosed 3 similar meals: fries, Bearniase sauce and steak. The waiter (and host, I think) presented herself and payed a lot of attention. The food was actually excellent. The mushrooms and the Liquorice flavored root beer was excellent. The fries were great and also the sauce. The steak however was slitghly overdone - acceptable but a shame. we ordered a glass of the Wine of the House and had 3 choices. I will definitely go there again and I will definitely recommend others to go.

Bistro 59 is a piece of France hidden in on the second row streets in Aalborg City. The atmosphere, the decoration and last but not least the food and wine, offer you an experience that is very comparable to an evening at a good French bistro.
Bistro 59 offer 2 kinds of courses. 3-4 courses, I will call it Signature menu, which are available all year round. And the Slate courses offer you very good experiences based on the best season ingredients available. Personally I enjoyed very much the white Asparagus with Hollandaise sauce. Definite a typical course of the season and also highly recommendable.
For main course I choose one of the signature courses, Onglet. Under normal circumstances I would never dare to order Onglet. But I was tempted after a glance at one of the other tables who enjoyed the course. Onglet is a very special and tasteful experience, served in a pan at your table with very delicious and well done French Fries on the side.
Everyone should try an evening at Bistro 59. Both for private dinning and for an unformal business dinner. Lars Bech
