It is a really lovely place to visit, great view.
A bit difficult to get to and we had some scary moments to get to the top as there are no bars or safety nets at the edge of the cliff. Small children must be watched! Once you made it to the top the panoramic view is just great.

Excellent value loads of fun for any age including kids like me (aged 63). Also rope walks and other fun stuff plus inexpensive snack type restaurant and across the road a super municipal type swimming pool. Lots of helpful multilingual staff
I imagine this could get very busy (for Hungary) in the height of the season so pick your time. Similarly there is a free medium sized car park.
More restaurants and tourist type places down the road plus a park and interesting old house/palace but didnt have time to explore i was too busy on bob.
If you have children/grandchildren and visit lake balaton and dont find time to take them here you are a total grinch.

We visited for 4 days on a tour of Europe. The lake side is fenced off and for a small fee you have to pay for either a full day where u can come and go with a pass or reduced rates from 4pm and free after 7pm. Within the fenced areas you get access to the lake there are toilets and changing facilities , bars and food places , pedalo's and other activities . The place is not over busy and has a nice safe atmosphere. There is a busy train station where you can visit other areas, we hired bikes and biked 16 mile along the lake cycle path to Tihany, this is also worth a visit!

I think, that I have been several hundred times on the lake Balaton- but first time at this place. I count it to one of the 10 best panoramas on the lake

This former water tower has a nice central location on the main square in Siofok. On ground level is a tourist info office. The staff there is friendly and heplful and they speak english well.
On top of the tower there is a cafe. Besides coffee it offers great views around the area.

Zoo Veszprem is situated just 15 km from Lake Balaton, and it is the most favoured destination of tourists in the Central Transdanubian Region. The Zoo, which located in a beautiful environment awaits visitors every day of the year, including weekends and holidays. Beside seeing interesting animals, spectacular feeding actions, petting pens and organised events make the offer of the Zoo more colourful. Let’s explore the wonderful world of the animals!
Tickets are still expensive (compering with the prices in Hungary), but the service definitely improved a lot comparing to my previous visit. Above the regular animals (giraffe, lion, monkey, rabbit, bear, zebra, camel) several novelty can be seen (e.g.: Dino park). Animals are living in the zoo, like in their natural environment in the new part of the Zoo. No smell, amazingly organized area.

As we drove from Budapest to Slovenia, decided to take a detour to see the lake & so happy we did as it is beautiful. The colour is lovely, and it is large allowing for a lot of activities slong the shore & by boat.
Numerous accommodation spots along the coast from camping to hotels, various food options from takeaway to dine in, & hire options including boats & bikes.
A popular holiday & cycling option. Lovely! We could easily go back & spend a few days relaxing.

We found a lovely sculpture park open to the public, free. It contains about 50 contemporary sculptures positioned throughout a park with tree cover. Nicely laid out. Sculptures are from around Europe. They are of an international standard, very nice looking and meaningful. The part itself if shaded and is on the lakeside - you can spend a day at the lakeside resort swimming etc and spend a couple of hours seeing the sculptures. The town itself is well kept with a good choice of restaurants, hotels and cafes.

A charming district intersected by winding medieval streets and filled with quaint houses and grand palaces, shops, restaurants and a variety of interesting museums.
We went to see the center of Veszprém, more precisely the Castle area. It is a really beautiful place with nice old buildings and churches and a fantastic view on the surrounding from the statues of St Stephan and Gizella as well as from the Fire Tower. You can visit the churches and different museums as well depending on the time you have. A must see.

Authentic family owned "palinka" distillery in the picturesque "Bucket valley". Tasting session with a tour of the distillery (English or Hungarian) from 3000HUF/person. Please book in advance by phone or email.
Really enjoyed learning about the history of Palinka and the methods to produce it. It's obvious that Csallo Palinka really care about the quality they produce and it shows in the tasting. Great hosts and a visit is recommended. Thanks
