As we drove from Budapest to Slovenia, decided to take a detour to see the lake & so happy we did as it is beautiful. The colour is lovely, and it is large allowing for a lot of activities slong the shore & by boat.
Numerous accommodation spots along the coast from camping to hotels, various food options from takeaway to dine in, & hire options including boats & bikes.
A popular holiday & cycling option. Lovely! We could easily go back & spend a few days relaxing.

It is said that the waters have many medicinal properties. I can not comment on this. However, on tasting the water it was obvious that there were various minerals in the water. Many people over the years could not all be wrong about it's healthy attributes.

After Matrafured, Budapest and Heviz, the unique service of the High-Tech Sports Base - the segway tour - is now available in Balatonfured too. The tour on this fantastic vehicle offers an unforgettable experience for children, adults, the young, the elderly, couples, families and friends alike. Other exciting programmes available!
It was a good and awesome activity. I've been here with my family and they enjoyed. I've never tried segway before, and as I thought, it was super. You can control it easily. The leader speaks clearly, and he is very helpful. I hardly recommend this activity.

Beautiful old villa, now an art gallery - there are Exhibitions on three floors and they are ALWAYS well chosen, fascinating and beautifully presented. Whatever the subject. An attractive small gift shop, and a coffee house run by the Bergmann Enterprise, so obviously the cakes are of the highest standard. Nice to eat out on the Terrace in summer, with coffee. Small concert recital room. One time I visited, one of the security guards spoke excellent English and turned out to be incredibly well-informed about one of the subjects of an exhibition currently being held - he took me all around it and could answer every question authoritatively. Just as well as any curator. I simply love this place. Highly recommended.

Jókai Mór Memorial House
The outstanding Hungarian writer of the 19th century, Mór Jókai wrote his probably most popu¬lar novel, the Golden Man in this villa built in 1870. This unique exhibition gives us a glance into the everyday life and social events of his family.

I was there with my girlfirend with a coupon, Even with that the price was high for a student, we had to pay for the slides too (and they were limited limited!!!). It was a very expensive day and it did not worth a visit. There was only one slide that i can recommend, it's the "Crazy River", great for couples.

We went up via a very steep path which challenged us all, but on the way down we took the easy route by the benches named after characters from Jókai's famous book. You can read about it at the foot of the trail. There is a local 'pub' on not far from where it starts/finishes called something in the line of a 'black cat'. Dont miss it.
There is a tower you can clim on at the top offering baeutiful views of the landscape.
All year around, recommended.

The woman at the entrance barely managed to acknowledge my existence. 1,000 HForint for an adult under 62 years of age. Very boring aquarium of Freshwater fish and flora/fauna of Lake Balaton. Interactive screens gave information in Hungarian, German and English but didn't all work. I spent 10-15 minutes in there. Don't waste your time.

On a day trip around lake Balaton we arrived just after visiting Siofok. What a contrast. Balatonfured is quiet and sophisticated with lovely clean streets, interesting shops and city market, a well maintained shoreline walk, pretty park and lots of flowers, good yacht harbour, interesting Fountains and good restaurants. My type of place.

Brazay-KalandPart was a very positive experience. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. They gave good instructions to my son, who was doing something like this for the first time. The safety is important in a place like this and I was happy that the staff paid good attention to it! There were several routes, the easiest were close to the ground and the highest in about 15 meters above the ground. My son had a good time there and would definitely do it again. I'd say it was good value for the money!
