The largest ski area in the Pyrenees (210km of runs)
Just back from Soldeu & the pistes here are fantastic, long & wide..perfect for us snowboarders but also for our friends that are skiers.
There are ski lockers here just before you get the gondola so no need for carrying all your kit. They cost 55 euros for 6 days but hold up to 5 lots of boards/skis/boots.
I would definitely recommend this resort, don't let the 3 hour transfer from Barcelona put you off!

[ING]Casa de la Vall is the ancient seat of the General Council: Andorra'sparliament. The building is emblematic for its historicalignificance. In 1419, an inter-parochial organization known as the Land Council wasratified. This was subsequently to become the General Council of theValleys of Andorra. The house was built in 1580 by the Busquets family. It was acquiredin 1702 by the General Council. The layout of the building is quadrangular with three galleries, in the style of the country houses of Catalan noble families. The main facade has both the current coat of arms of Andorra and the old one (from after the 14th century) and some interesting defensive features: embrasure, tower and machicolations. The building was restored in 1962.The Gardens have a dovecot tower, a boundary cross and contemporary commemorative sculptures.[ESP]La Casa de la Vall es la Antigua sede del Consell General: el parlamento de Andorra. Casa de la Val is an old stone construction, here was the parlement, you can visit this very authentic building; nice illuminated in the evening.

The sculpture by Salvatore Dali, sometimes called the "Stillness of Time" was executed in 1975. It is located in the Placa de la Rotonda, at one end of the shopping district. It located, near the Valira River. What makes a great photo is the bridge with the words "Andorra La Vella" right beyond this sculpture.

I loved taking a photo of the bridge near the Placa de la Rotunda that had the name of this capital city, Andorra La Vella, on the front. Salvadore Dali's sculpture "La Noblesse du Temps" is also in the Placa de la Rotunda. Had a beautiful ride with the snow falling in the Pyrenees Mountains prior to arriving here. There are lots of shops-mostly perfume, cameras. clothing and many eateries. The prices are reasonable for the perfume but I could get a better deal online in the US. There is duty-free shopping here.

Right in the middle of the historic area.. look at the fascinating stonework from the outside . If its open have a look and the stained glass windows within , otherwise just look at the metal statues of the bishops in the square outside

The cable stayed bridge has a unique design with the cables being supported by the top of a triangular frame instead of the usual towers. The sides of the frame are supported by the river banks.
It is great for a photo opportunity and well worth a short stop on a tour of the city.

We walk through the park many times to go to our favorite restaurant, very nice place to be with the evening views of the Mountains, stars, and the mountain breeze on a summer night. Lots of people sitting around even in winter time. Local activities are held at the park. Definitely a must visit.

I often take my little boy down to the Parc Central, it´s a great place for him to practice riding his bike or his scooter as it´s really flat and safe with a nice path running through which joins up to a long walk along the river. If you are from Andorra or ever visited, you will know that finding flat space to learn to ride a bike isn´t the easiest thing and you mostly end up in carparks etc which are not ideal.Everywhere else is steep hills which I´m sure the riders of the Tour de France are cursing right now :)
There is also a skateboard/scooter park which is the usual cement setup with some crazy steep hills for the more daring kids.
There is quite a lot of play equipment for young children, however, my 8year old has grown out of a lot of it now and points out to me that it is mostly for ´little kids´. There is usually a tall spiderweb frame, it´s made of rope that is pulled out in four directions from a high pole and has interconnecting ropes that kids can climb along, my boy still loves this piece of equipment and gives me heart attacks every time he climbs up to the top, however, when we visited yesterday (Jul 11th) much to my son´s acute disappointment, the spiderweb was missing. The area has been fenced off but the mainl center pole is still there so we are hoping the rope has just been taken away for renovation or replacement.
My little man was devastated in the way only an 8yr old can pull off, however, after a walk around and an ice-cream, the world was right again.
I assured him that it would probably be back soon and better than ever, please let me be correct on that one, otherwise he won´t let me live it down for ages.
Another great thing about the park is that you can take your dog in there with you, as long as yo are prepared to keep your dog under control and pick up any mess.
The park has a cafe and public toilets so it´s great if you are going for a family day out.
The pond has ducks but please remember to not feed the ducks bread as it has no nutritional value and is very bad for them, you are better off stopping by one of the local pet stores and buying proper pellets, birds have been known to starve to death after being fed bread as it fills up their tummies but doesn´t provide anything of nutritional value.
If you do go to the park, make sure you take a blanket to sit on, there are lovely patches of grass but sometimes it can be a bit wet from the dew. There is enough room on the grass areas for kids to play football on and I have seen kids having massive water balloon fights on hot days, so that might be an idea if you want to have fun with your kids and cool off at the same time.
The park has a wonderful atmosphere and well worth a visit. The only downside I can really think of is the amount of tall edges which often obscure the view of your kids. Andorra is quite a safe place for children but I have lived in a number of places overseas that aren´t quite as safe and I can´t shake that paranoia of somebody snatching my son when I´m not looking. We have a rule between us that if my little boy can´t see me, then I can´t see him and he has to move back into my line of sight, however, kids get excited in Playgrounds and he occasionally forgets this when playing with other kids, especially if they are playing chasey.
One other thing I wanted to mention about the park is it´s not just for kids, at lunchtime office employees venture out of their cubicles to get some fresh air, enjoy the beautiful surroundings and feel the sun on their face. The Gardens are full of stunning flowers and everyone respects the ethos of not picking the flowers so that everyone can enjoy them-.I probably haven´havent done this park justice, however if are in Andorra and you have kids, i´s definitely worth a visit.

You very soon come to the conclusion that any building older than 30 years is a historic tourist attraction in Andorra la Vella, simply because the bulk of the city is one large, modern shopping centre.
This building is a good looking house, and anywhere else that is all it would be.
