We called in here as we simply passed it and fancied some lunch. What a treat! We dined off the Market Menu and were not let down.
The Parfait & Veloute were lovely (although the brioche with the parfait was very dry) - the sourdough would have been a better accompaniment. With regard to main courses the baked salmon and the chicken & leek pie were truly great, but the treat were the chips - wow some of the best I’ve ever tasted. Beautifully crunchy on the outside, light and fluffy as you like of the inside - perfection.
The service was polite, efficient and attentive.
However - why oh why do you have plastic ‘flowers’? But then why put them in a vase with water! What on earth is going on? It beggars belief to have plastic flowers in a vase with water!
Such a let down.

Thoroughly enjoyed lunch. I went for Seafood gratin which was tasty - loved the sauce; chose roast saddle of lamb with small lamb pie and all the trimmings. Purple carrots were a nice change and cauliflower cheese good.
Others had mushrooms on toast followed by roast beef and roast pork.
Only thing missing a good Ale - Black Sheep or Doombar.

The Tiger is a family run village pub, with the ethos of excellent quality pub food, served with perfect quality cask ales and a superb reputation.
Absolutely brilliant food - excellent service, keenly priced and great value for money. The breast of lamb was the best I've ever tasted but I have one big problem with this restaurant - everything on the menu is so good, it is impossible to choose! Well done and thank you.

The Masons is a classic country pub / gastropub midway between Wetherby, Harrogate and Knaresborough serving lunches and dinners using homemade locally sourced food and a wide selection of wines and alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. We have a lovely dog friendly snug bar and a dog-free area for dining.
Found this place outside york to meet family. Its not well signposted so it was quiet on a thursdsy night. Great food and large portions. Good selection of beers and nice resturant. Landlady was really friendly and food arrived quick. I would recommend to anyone in the area to stop buy.

We popped in after a walk in the snow and were tempted by the 2 course lunch menu for £12.95. The food was huge hearty portions and extremely tasty. Lovely presentation and really attentive service. A lovely bright coolish day in November for a walk along riverside area.
The wind was quite brisk and we made a stop at this delightful place on the man walk area next to the river Nidd.
A warm welcome was made to us for two coffees and a lovely piece of toasted teacake which came in at about £5.90.
The service was very good and the majority of guests appear to be dog owners as well.
Our first time there and really enjoyed it !

A warm welcome awaits you in the Lavender Rooms where you can relax and enjoy a break in an atmosphere full of Olde Worlde Charm.
Always have a problem with TripAdvisor. This place is good. Not very good. Not average. But have gone with average. We cleared the table as they were understaffed. No problem, just saying. The soup came x 3 and was fine. My Brie and Bacon melt was tasty. Noisy, messy children destroyed the ambience. Not the cafes fault just wish parents would show a bit of control. The interior tired and needing a make over. All in all fine. But and here is the but. Would I return? Not so sure. Would probably go and check out other places so that probably tells you all you need to know.

Friendly, family-run cafe on the High Street, in the historic market town of Knaresborough. Famous for our breakfasts and hand-cut skin-on chips, we also serve an excellent range of teas and coffees, as well as the usual cafe fare such as jacket potatoes, burgers, quiche, chilli, sandwiches and paninis, soup, cakes and scones. Many items are homemade using produce from independent local suppliers. Vegetarian, gluten-free and dairy-free options are available.
McQueen's is always busy, but so friendly. The food is excellent, the staff very helpful and thoughtful, and the customers chat to each other even if total strangers - always a good sign. If you just want a cup of tea or a full meal,...MoreThank you so much for the review!
