The palace is a house you can fell in love with. It's like an old castle among small white traditional portuguese houses and near to lovely white church. It is now renewed, but you can still feel a touch of old glorious times.Thank you for such kind words. You are most welcome any time you feel like an escapade

This well-presented archaaeological Roman villa site is now open to visitors: there is a comprehensible audio-visual presentation with detailed computer-graphic reconstructions of the site, etc. etc. The impressive Villa ruins were later re-used c. the 11th c.as a cult centre dedicated to Sao Cucufate. The ruins are not extensive and the visit might take about an hour....very interesting if in the area.

Its reassuring to see the future with large scale investment in wine production in Portugal in spite of all its economic & austerity problems .
We were taken to this very modern wine estate started in 2000,created with special regard to the Topographic , the clay ,sandy soil ,weather conditions to produce high quality grapes
It is set in 70 hectares of vineyards with magnificence views & a serenity not normal found on a wine estate . The buildings which house all the very latest equipment are set in to a hillside , careful landscaped which is deceiving when you get inside , its like a James Bond movie set .
We were meet by Anna Moreira who spoke perfect English , & looked after us for the 90 minute tour & tasting with enthusiasm,, knowledge ,& professionalism ,not normal found in guides
The final part was the tastings which was held in ultra modern hall ,which match the high standards of the wine & olive oil given as samples
Worth a definite trip to be assured that Portugal particular the Alentejo region will be producing for many years to come very high quality wine for limited consumption in Europe ,but
will exporting these high quality wines to the rest of the world , well done , full admiration to Anna & her colleagues & those all important investors

If you like modern art, this is a nice stop! It's in a new building of the quetzal vineyard. It was quite a big exposition. We got explanation of Noberto, one of the guys there, which helped a lot to understand the different projects.

The 1600 hectares of the estate, located between the Mendro Mountain Range and the plains of Alentejo, alongside the Guadiana River and the Alqueva Dam, is the stage to an adventurous stay. Wine Boutique Hotel with 11 Rooms and a tradicional Restaurant. The Winery is open every days, with Wine Tours with Wine Tasting.
We had a great time at this wine estate, lovely authentic house no luxury but a real experience. The staff is fantastic and always helpful and are explaining all the typical Alentejo food and habits.
The wine is very good and really value for money. From the white 'swimming pool' wine till the very special red Arché.
The jeep safari is very special you experience fabulous nature and a lot of wildlife.
Finally the restaurant, no choice for the menu but so special with the special Alentejo dishes. For sure you would never order them from a menu.
A stay at Sobroso is a real experience. Worthwhile a visit.
