It was an amazing discovery in a little village not too far from Beja. An old tavern with magnificent snacks at a reasonable price. If you have the chance to go with a group even better as you can try many traditional Portuguese gastronomy very well done. The house red wine is good and don't miss the Deserts.

Adega of Casa de Monte Pedral, with a privileged location in the heart of the village of Cuba, presents an imposing decoration, with vaulted, traditional oven and 12 giant size carvings. In Alentejo lands they could not be lacking as crumbs with meat from the bowl or as tomato soup with fish. But as diverse alternatives as the lamb chops with olive crumbs, the beans with little drumsticks and the secret, the stew of lamb, a açorda of garlic or cod and as soups of cação. Sometimes it is possible to watch Alentejo songs to the torn.
It was not the best day to go to this particular tavern because it was completely crowded with a group of about 80 people. For that reason we could not choose from the menu but had to accept the owner suggestion as the group had previously defined what they were going to eat and it was a deception. We were also served a regional cheese (from Alentejo) but it was spoiled. The house wine was delicious and the other good thing about our visit was that after the meal there was live music and dance. So it ended to be quite amusing to be there but we have to return to taste the real food served in that charismatic place.

Cellar with a wide choice of dishes. If you have not taste the food of the region of Alentejo this is the perfect place to do it. Just ask the owner for a suggestion and for sure you will like what he brings you to eat.

We arrived at gone 3pm and the place was very quiet, however we liked the feel of the restaurant. The menu is all in Portuguese and no English is spoken. However we managed to figure out the difference between meat and fish! The owner kindly bought the raw produce out of the kitchen so we could make our selections. We had a grilled veal steak and grilled fish. Both were excellent. The bill with a drink each was around €-5 so great value as well.

Our new Winery has a Gourmet Restaurant with traditional Alentejo cuisine managed by our Chef Catarina Parreira.
We made an appointment for lunch for 13:00 and it was an excellent experience. A beautiful winery located in the Vidigueira area of Alentejo. The surrounding countryside/scenery is beautiful. Our server Antonio was one of the most professional and helpful servers we have had during our entire trip in Portugal. Order the 'octopus in the oven' lunch entree. Incredible. All the food we had was delicious. In addition, get the Nun's Belly dessert. I did the 15Euro wine flight and it was totally worth it. Get a designated driver though.

It was a real revelation to discover this restaurant, this pearl hidden in a beautiful place and top service.
Will return soon to enjoy the beautiful hotel and its scenic surroundings, finalising the day with an excellent meal and the wines of the property are outstanding.
Congratulations

PIZZARIA "Casa Nostra" apresente no seu menu o melhor da comida italiana, para desfrutar no nosso restaurante ou para levar para a sua casa (take-away).
The service is good and quick and the staff is very friendly. We tried the pizzas and found them excellent but there other Italian and Portuguese dishes to choose from. The atmosphere is very cozy and family-friend. The restaurant is small and gets full very quickly. Fortunately, it is possible to reserve a table so be sure to do it if you don't want to stand in line to eat. It is closed on Mondays.

Raposo is a quaint, everyday restaurant at the heart of Vidigueira. Not easily spotted from the street, I would not assume it's size and high ceilings!
Staff is friendly even if the young lady who attended us was a little bit all over the place. She was always helpful, caring.
I was on a business trip and we stopped at Raposo for lunch before heading north to Porto. One of the daily offerings was "lagartos", literally meaning "lizards"! But fear not, it's an unusual pork cut, from the neck, so we were told, that I've found only in this side of Alentejo. These "lizards" are thin, tender strips of lean meat that, after passing some time in a grill, get a bit crooked, resembling a lizard minus the legs, hence the name, I guess.
Anyway, the meat was tender and tasty, seasoned with just the right amount of salt, served with a generous portion of fries and boiled rice and a side tomato and lettuce salad. We had a Superbock beer as we were traveling (and driving) and wine was not an advisable choice for a 4 plus hour road trip.
