Spent an hour here...nice boardwalk through woods and out to a very nice beach...sandy, very clean and deserted in early Sept.
Large picinic area with lots of tables
Washrooms and change rooms on site
The walk is very pleasant and worth doing if in the area

We weren't looking for this museum but stumbled upon it. It is small but packed with all kinds of neat antiques, most unrelated to a court room. The court room itself is near and offers good picture taking opportunities. It's by donation so pay what you can. Plan to spend 1/2 an hour.

Took a short trip down from Guysborough, NS on Rt 16 and happened upon this little museum filled with all sorts of lighthouse accouterments manned by a delightful and informative volunteer whose enthusiasm of all things lighthouse was apparent. Located in a former small school house it won't take much time going through but you will be glad you did.....

Located on beautiful Guysborough Harbour, Skipping Stone Cafe & Store is located in the historic Hart Building (circa 1913) across the courtyard from the Rare Bird Pub & Eatery and above the Guysborough Marina. The Cafe features fresh roasted organic, fair trade espresso and drip coffees from the Full Steam Coffee Company, home-style baking and gelato from the Harbour Belle Bakery, sandwiches and soups. The store has a selection of special Nova Scotia gifts, clothing, music and photography as well as canoe, sea kayak and bicycle rentals.
This is the sort of cafe you could linger in for a whole afternoon - a great chill-out place. Good selection of cakes as well

Osprey Shores Golf Resort has earned a reputation as one of Nova Scotia's most picturesque golf courses. Set on the shores of the Atlantic Coast's largest bay, Osprey Shores is located on 60 acre peninsula extending into Guysborough Harbour, creating oceanfront views from each fairway. The resort features a Clubhouse with a full pro shop including club and cart rentals, guest lounge and a 100 seat event facility as well as a 10 room lodge.
A beautiful setting, scenic and a great nine hole golf course for the avid golfer and the beginner, well equipped pro shop, price wise very good, great service and friendly employees who are from the area and well versed on everything going on , the local residents and events. also a motel and outdoor pool with nearby local attractions. I recommend this highly and if it were not for the rain I would have and could have played golf all day long.

This is one of the seven self-registration Provincial campgrounds in Nova Scotia. Reservations can be made online ($9) or onsite (no fee). As this campground is seldom full, we chose the latter option. This is a beautiful little campground with 40 unserviced sites. The grounds are well maintained and most sites have a water view. The washroom building, which is handicap accessible, has free hot showers, electric outlets, and is immaculately clean. There are water spigots throughout the campground as well as 2 pit toilets. As this is a provincial park, the water is tested daily. All sites have a fire pit and picnic table. Kudos to the staff for putting 2 wheels on all of the heavy wood picnic tables. The site description on the reservation website indicates which sites are not level. Firewood ($) and ice ($) are available. There is no beach but there is a boat launch. In my opinion, sites 18 and 33 are the nicest and are quite private. If you have a small class B, C or a pop-up, site 25 has the most spectacular sunset views. Generator hours are from 10am to 8pm. Full recycling is available. Overpriced diesel is available about 9.5 km north of the campground on Hwy 316. For diesel at regular prices you need to go to Sherbrooke (50km) or Antigonish (60km). Antigonish is also your best option for grocery shopping. Marine Drive (Hwy # 7) is wonderfully scenic, however the road is in absolutely terrible condition and will reek havoc on your RV if you choose that route.

So we arrived 1 1/2 hours before closing just in time to see the staff leaving. According to her "we closed early today". Even with Ontario license plates, she said sorry and asked us to come back tomorrow. Since we live 20 hours away and on vacation, not happening.
Very pooooor service. She could have opened for us since it was supposed to be open!!
