First time in this neck of the wood and what a beautiful part of Scotland.
Sea had a good blow on it, whipping up white horses.
Beach is clean, with good underfoot conditions, it seems to stretch for miles.
A couple of seals popped up for a look whilst we walked with our dog.
A popular beach but big enough to have it all to yourself.
Try it and see.

Well renovated historic place with friendly informative guide. Learned a lot. Shows the salmon fishing and how they achieved this. Nearby beach and harbour well worth visiting.
The context of visiting the piers is important to see what effort was needed to achieve this important industry for the town and locals.

After having walked the Hopeman to Burghead section of the Moray Coastal route many times, I tackled the longer Findhorn to Burghead walk accompanied by two of my sons and a trusty 'mans best friend' named Chief.
The walk starts at Findhorn beach and heads westward along the coastline, skirting the former RAF base at Kinloss. The views across the bay to Burghead are lovely and there are lots of sea life ( seals and dolphins) on view if you are lucky plus gulls and other sea birds. One thing to watch out for is small sections of the pathway have been eroded by the sea and could be tricky if you are cycling.
You then go into well signposted forestry walks which take you through the Roseisle beach visitor area and ends entering Burghead through the Burghead Caravan Park.
This is a lovely varied walk for all ages, which should not prove to difficult, providing you are reasonably fit. The walk should take you roughly three hours.
Give it a try.

Moray Art Centre is an eco-designed, purpose built Arts Centre, based on the Findhorn coast, North East Scotland and aims to provide a stimulating environment for visual arts education and appreciation.
Arrived late on a Saturday afternoon but was still treated to an expansive talk from teh guy in the office and an informal explanation of their new sewage treatment device. Took a walk around the community and it was quiet and friendly, some very interesting construction (especially the barrell houses). My girlfriend complained a bit about what she regarded as 'big houses', myself I do not see why an alternative lifestyle means you have to live in a hovel and I think the place has real ambience. On the way back to Forres we picked up a hitchhiker who, it turned out, had grown up in the community and she said that young people get bored and restless there and,as a consequence, can behave quite badly. Well, at least she acknowledged the bad behaviour - not something that always happens in more conventional upbrigings.

Wild things! is an award winning environmental education charity based in Moray but working across the UK. Since 2003, Wild things! has enabled over 10,000 children, young people and adults to learn from and be inspired by their local natural environment and the remote Wilderness regions of Scotland. We offer accredited adult courses, wild weekends, children and teenage programmes.
I have been working with this charity for years now and they can't do enough for the children. The kids just love it and have learnt so much from each session. Who knew seaweed could be so fascinating!
