The Chef/owner is passionate about cooking and we strive to use as much local produce as possible on our menu which changes on a regular basis. The restaurant has a relaxed and unstuffy atmosphere as we want our guests to enjoy the whole experience. We are happy to cater for vegetarians and special dietary requirements with advance notice. As the restaurant is only small and to reduce waste, we only prepare for the bookings we have, it is essential to make Reservations in advance.
We decided to eat at Franklin's as we were staying at the hotel and had been traveling all day and wanted something convenient. Little did we know that we were going to be treated to a truly fine meal.
I had the stuffed squid and the venison. Both were new to me and they were amazing.

A regular nightly treat during our winter week in Findhorn, this warm, welcoming pub offers a great choice of drinks including at least one real ale and an excellent choice of gins and whiskies. The food on offer is varied including local fish dishes and a good choice for vegetarians. Prices are very reasonable for the area.
Our two retired greyhounds were also very well looked after with fuss from fellow customers and treats from the staff.
Thoroughly recommended.

Really tasty bar meal in a very busy wee bar. Pub was fully booked for meals but had sign up saying they would try and accommodate and they found us a table in the busy bar area. Not a long wait for the food despite how busy it was and it was lovey when it arrived. Will definitely be back!

The Mosset Tavern is a family orientated pub restaurant in the heart of Forres, ideal for the whisky trail. Large parties welcome. Plenty of parking. Large function suite catering for all types of functions especially weddings. We offer a tasty lunch, dinner, vegan, group and children's menus. There are 6 real pumps, over 100 malts and superb choice of cocktails and Scottish gins.
We went with a friend who had eaten there before. The food was excellent, we especially enjoyed the trio of scottish puddings starter, absolutely excellent. I was torn between a very good and an excellent review as it is very very good. WIll definitely go again when in the area.

The Potting Shed coffee shop always proves a popular place for locals and visitors. Everything we serve is home cooked on our premises and we source our products from local suppliers we know and trust. We have become famous for our range of scones and soups with the scones often still warm when they are served. Whether it be a hearty cooked breakfast, a light lunch, an afternoon tea or just a coffee and cake, there is something for everyone.
The cakes are good and the coffee OK. The soup is good if you can get it but they don't make enough and it often runs out. Service is pleasant once you attract their attention which can take some time. The ambience is not good - a bit like dining in the local nursing home if you look at other customers. Their shop sells all sorts of useless paraphernalia that no one could ever possibly want. Even though it is only October they have a warehouse full of the most tasteless Christmas tat, not even tastefully displayed. It should be so much better than it is. If you want to sit somewhere comfortable in nice surroundings then Brodie Countryfare just along the road is a much better bet.

The 'Wee Brodie' breakfast has certainly decreased in size. Yes, there is still the same number of items but the quantity of each item has decreased. For example only 3 mushrooms and only one rasher of bacon. When it was served up at the counter portions were more generous. Now that they serve it up from the kitchen you don't get nearly as much and they fill it out with toast. I used to enjoy it but I won't be back for more.

we returned to this cafe after a 2 year gap and were delighted to find quality and range better than ever. we had cullen skink, which is smoked fish chowder typical of the area. Mother in law had deluxe venison burger and was delighted. highly recommend!

The food, as always, is great - I've never had a bad meal here. On this occasion our order was slightly incorrect when it arrived but was swiftly rectified and apologised for - it wasn't a big issue and was sorted well enough.
However, the waiters were not all particularly well practiced in serving or clearing a table - there were a lot of items dropped and cutlery not replaced for the main course. Some were friendly enough but to others we were clearly an inconvenience - if you're going to work in hospitality you need to have the correct attitude for it. Sadly consistence was lacking, which could be fixed with training.
It didn't spoil our enjoyment of a nice evening out but I've been when the atmosphere was more relaxed and the staff a bit friendlier. Again, the food couldn't be faulted though.

Traditional Italian style dairy ice cream manufacturers, established 1930.
Classic fish and chips excellent service and off course a good bit of fish served with an adequate portion of chips cooked to perfection
The cheap alternative to cordon blue cooking but worth sampling wholesome fish and chips to match just ask for the tartar and brown sauce not forgetting the vinegar
Scottish cooking at its best with Italian influence
