Las Piedrotas located in Tapalpa, Jalisco is about 2 1/2 hours from Guadalajara.
It's definately NOT a short drive and I recommend driving only during the day because the road, especially the last few kilometers are full of curves, only one lane both ways and full of potholes; additionally it's somewhat isolated from gas stations, Oxxos etc, you've been warned.
They open after 9 a.m. and they do offer horses (good option for the young or elderly) but they're available much later.
They also sell food and drinks.
Like others have mentioned, not much to see, a few large rocks, zipline, you can camp over night and hiking.
Not sure how big the actual park is but I'm guessing only a few square kilometers, you can definately walk it in a few hours or horseback the entire park in just about an hour or less.
Park has an entrance fee and parking is free.
Overall, if you're in the area I recommend visiting but unless you're spending the night in Tapalpa, I would not drive 5 hours to drive back and fourth from Guadalajara.

The journey takes 45-60 minutes on a bumpy road, so you need an appropriate vehicle, but there are beautiful views along the way. Lots of horses and cows on the roadside. Once you get there, you need to hike down to the falls, which can take 30-45 mins, on a rocky path, so wear appropriate hiking shoes and clothing. When you get to the bottom, go left first to see the mini-falls, and then head back to the trail and go the opposite direction to see the large waterfall. Beautiful. Make sure you bring water for the climb down and up.

It is an adventure sports park where we'll have fun times, full ofadventure and contact with nature.Eko Park is located in the Sierra de Tapalpa in Jalisco, a recognized placeas Pueblo Magico, with beautiful scenery and full of traditions.
Tapalpa is worthy of a two day visit or just a few hours. It is small, very walkable and the people who live there are lovely. Great restaurants that are inexpensive and very authentic. Higher in elevation that most of Mexico, thus cooler to walk around most days of the year. A must see.
